I took my electric guitar in for a setup, and when I got it back there was so much fret buzz that the lower frets are unplayable. This is not an issue that the guitar has before, and I don't know how to fix it myself so I'm going to have to have it repaired somewhere else.
This music store stands out. They are extremely helpful, have a wonderful selection of instruments and can fix anything. Number 1 in Corvallis.
I bought a vintage tenor banjo here during my last visit, and the owner/proprietor was able to provide a good history of the instrument. I've had my other banjo set up here, too, and always learn something new when I visit.
The woman who seems to own the place doesn't seem to like people or music. I was in with my 3 year old son who is in love with music and instruments of all kinds. He is gentle, respectful, and passionate about music, the exact kind of customer (himself in the future or through his parents now) that a music shop should want to cultivate. We have been in once before with another person working in the store and were encouraged to explore the instruments and play respectfully and gently. My son had a great time and was talking about the store for a week to anyone who would listen. We came in today, and it was a completly different story. The woma... My son had a great time and was talking about the store for a week to anyone who would listen. We came in today, and it was a completly different story. The woman who seemed to be the owner gave us dirty looks as soon as we walked in, she asked us to leave even though my son was not playing any instrument with more strength or roughness than any adult would. He was under my supervision the entire time and we were very careful with the instruments. On the previous day I put in an order for drum brushes because I was so pleased with how we were treated. Today I cancelled the order and will never step foot in the building again. You have lost my business and to be honest I hope you lose more.
I'm an acoustic guitarist who didn't understand how to set up the bridge on an old PRS electric out of my closet where it had been stored for decades. Tim (?) at Fingerboard Extension did a great job of setting the bridge and stringing the instrument all for the price of the strings. So much friendlier and personable than my visits to GC stores. Thank you Fingerboard Extension.
