Famous appliance service was prompt, helpful with questions and returned phone calls in a timely manner. They communicated well so I knew when the technician was coming. Mark was knowledgeable and polite. He worked quickly and was very helpful fixing our refrigerator.
To be honest. I was a little apprehensive to have Famous Appliance work on my Miela appliances. However, they did exceed my expectations, got everything working perfectly, and though it was an expensive repair, It was still affordable, in comparison to other appliance services that I’ve had in the home. Definitely will be a return customer. Luke, our tech did a great job!
We had our dishwasher serviced on December 5th because the start button was not working. The technician told us the issue was a failed wash pump and recommended replacing it. While we didn’t fully understand how that related to the start button issue, he provided an explanation that seemed reasonable at the time, so we proceeded with the repair.
On Christmas Day, the start button stopped working again. We called the following day and to their credit, they came out promptly. A different technician diagnosed the problem as water getting into the dishwasher door, which was causing the circuit board to get wet. This explanation made much more sense and also explained why the dishwasher worked temporarily after the first repair—it had time to dry out because we weren’t using it.
The technician ordered the necessary part and stated it would be installed at no cost under warranty, which we appreciated. However, it is now January 6th and we still have a non-functioning dishwasher. I called yesterday to check on the status of the part and was told they don’t know where it is but would “look into it.” I'm waiting to hear back.
My concern is twofold: first, the lack of communication and follow-through regarding the ordered part, and second, the possibility that we spent approximately $450 on a repair that may not have been necessary due to an initial misdiagnosis. With this new repair, we’re now looking at an additional $200.
While the technicians themselves were professional and prompt, the overall experience has been frustrating due to delays, uncertainty, and mounting costs.
