2015 VW Golf - plain-Jane TSI, not a GTI. Running OK but I knew it needed some repair & maintenance to keep its longevity. (Water pump & thermostat, spark plugs, PCV valve) I sometimes do some work on cars myself, but the VW is really not my favorite to work on. Having watched multiple videos on replacing these items, I knew I would be better off handing it over to a trusted expert. I had been getting quotes from other known VW/Euro specialty shops in the area, and even out of state, for some time. However I had not known about Euro Ace until at least a few months ago (even though they're only a few miles away!), and had been meaning to check them out based on their stellar positive reviews. Finally after hearing a loud growling noise a few weeks ago while out-of-state, which pointed to a bad wheel bearing, I decided it was time to drop in and see what they could do for me. So glad I did! :-) Austin, the owner, took the time to talk with me and understand my concerns and needs about the repairs I was looking for, and to give his opinions and spell out his approach. I had a great comfort level from our conversations, and I really felt we were on the same page. I especially liked that he proposed using OEM-quality replacement parts from the OE part suppliers, rather than relying on more expensive VW dealer parts (which really have almost no added benefit to justify their expense). Once he sent me his quote and I agreed to the work on a Friday, by Monday he already had parts ordered and on the way. When I dropped my car off a couple days later, we were able to discuss and adjust the plan to avoid some unnecessary labor, in order to save him time and save me money. When the work was completed and my car was ready, I was very happy with the outcome. No more growling noise, and as an added benefit the cabin heater works better than before. They pressure-washed the engine bay in order to make any potential leaks more visible, and test-drove the car to ensure the repairs would be satisfactory. They even washed the exterior! That was really an unexpected step above-and-beyond. The best part of course was that they were able to do all of the work for less than what other shops had quoted for half of these items, with the same quality parts and the same level of care, attention, and expertise. I really look forward to being able to use Euro Ace again in the future. Not only am I happy with their service, but I also enjoy the discussions we have and I feel like I learn something each time. Good, honest, trustworthy, experienced local-area specialty repair shops like Euro Ace are very hard to find, and sometimes even harder to keep. Please support them in their business.
