Feb. 27, 2026 EDIT Thank you Ernie for responding very quickly to my review and graciously offering to make things right. Someone was indeed sent out the very next day after we called to schedule. The entire process was very pleasant, from our scheduler to our plumber. Our Plumber was Scott and he informed us that the first person did not do the job correctly and used the wrong pipe for our hot & cold water line leaking in our ceiling space which is an enclosed area (he used something meant for an open area such as under the sink instead). He removed the sharkbite fittings and installed a new correct pex fitting for a more permanent repair solution, and soldered it together - which the other person also did not do, and fixed up everything for us during the same visit. He was very pleasant to deal with, educated us, and checked out a few other spots for us while here. We are thoroughly satisfied and will definitely recommend and continue to use Ernie's in the future. Thank you Scott and Ernie! :) ---------------------------------------------------- During 'Snowmageddon' we had a pipe burst through our ceiling and Ernie's came to give us an estimate and repair. The estimate was free as they advertised, repair seemed well, and the technician seemed nice and timely. It was suggested that we get the pipe repaired with PVC(?) I believe, which is a more flexible material and will expand better instead of repairing the pipe with a metal pipe, which our original pipe is. Since he was the expert, we went with what he suggested. All seemed well until the next Winter when we noticed a leak in the same exact spot which required us to open up our ceiling again. We called Ernie's again to come and give us another free estimate. This time, the person that came (different person) said that he'd have to charge us $200 just to go into the attic to even look. That seemed weird so we tried to go without and tried to patch it up. That spot has given us problems every Winter since. We will be doing a full repair with metal soon but the thought and trauma of that ill-repaired pipe during Winter every year sucks. It's completely fine throughout the year but during Winter is when it starts leaking again. Not enough to notice right away but eventually a stain appears in the same spot on our ceiling and every time, I'm reminded of what our expert recommended which turned out to not be a wise choice for our house. That and the random charge to go into the attic left a sour taste in our mouths. Thoroughly disappointed.
