Brought my car in because of a loud rattling noise I was hearing from the outside of it while driving at low speeds. Received a diagnosis and estimate for a minor suspension repair and to my delight, everything was fixed up on the same day. Unfortunately, it appears that no one test drove the car afterward, because the noise had not stopped or even improved on my drive home. On a hunch, I decided I would take a look myself before taking it back to the shop the following week as they suggested I do when I let them know that the sound was not fixed and it turns out there was a $6 screw missing from my caliper. Once I replaced it, the sound went away completely. At that point, with my problem solved, I didn't see any reason to need to take my car back. I called to follow up and let them know that I had resolved the issue and what it was and received a resounding "okay". Was the several hundred dollar repair job necessary? Maybe. There's really not a way for me to be sure. But it certainly didn't fix my problem. I mostly disappointed at the amount I had to pay for a repair which provided zero resolution to my issue which ended up being a 10 minute fix.
