They did a good job with the dryer vent cleaning. This was an easy first-floor job. They charged $300 for a 20-minute job, added $14 to pay with credit card, and then asked for a tip on top of it. You can get better value elsewhere. It seems they contract out the jobs to others. You probably need to negotiate with the guy who shows up or state your price when you schedule the appointment.
I didn't actually get the service because of the cost and the hard upsell from Mike, who was nice, but too aggressive. I have cleaned the dryer duct many times and was just looking for a break due to some ill health and because two years had passed since I had done it. I spent more time talking to him than it took me to do the job myself after he left including pulling the back off the dryer and vacuuming it out, including ensuring the heating element wasn't dirty (which they don't do, per their site they just vacuum out the lint trap). He quoted $99 for the first four feet then $10/foot after. For the ~20 feet that came to $400 which is just ridiculous for the provided service...running a rotating brush down a duct and only vacuuming out the lint trap. He was pushing hard that my UL listed flexible foil duct that is less than half the 10' was going to burn my house down (it's been in place for a dozen years at least) and quoted $1400 to add 8' of galvanized 4" duct. I agreed that it was an improvement that I had planned but I told him would be less than $100 and take me maybe fifteen minutes to install (I priced it out afterwards. It was $45 for two 4' x 4" lengths and $15 for a 45-degree elbow). A good rule of thumb is that anytime a job is more than 3X the parts you should question the quote and this came in at 30X! Really? And he wanted a $1000 deposit! NEVER pay a deposit for an essentially labor only job. NEVER. Cleaning was double what was suggested when I googled it and all the pressure was more stress than it was worth. I don't know whether there was some sort of creative upcharge because he came out on a snowy Sunday? In any case, I can't recommend Delta. I have flipped houses and managed projects for decades. I refused to do business with him and he kept pushing all the way out the door. I can't imagine recommending Delta to a neophyte or the elderly. Just awful.
