I reached out to this company 11 days ago to schedule an appointment and made two follow-up calls during that time, but I never received a return call to schedule service. I do want to note that their customer service representatives Tamika, Jeff, and Stephanie were all very kind, professional, and helpful when I spoke with them. I’m sharing this simply so others considering their services are aware of my experience with their follow-through on scheduling.
Thomas saved the day when he arrived and identified a problem and aided in potential solution that I’ve been working on for months! So thankful for him.
The guy that came to empty our tank was super nice and professional.
But when calling in it was a bit difficult. Plus I was charged for 1000 gallons to be pumped and only 750 gallons were pumped and I feel I over paid and still haven't gotten a call back about my broken tile or fixing my cord to the pump... So customer service center is not very accommodating.
Update: A manager called me and explained that the customer service rep, (we'll putting it nicely) basically didn't know her job or how to explain the services, I think it may be because better training is required but what do i know... 🤔
He sent out a "plumber", again a very nice guy. He explained everything buuuuut, what kills me is they wanted to charge me $300++++ to change out a float switch that cost $45 on Amazon and needs to be threaded into the tank, plus you dont need a plumbertodo that, the first person that came shouldve been able to do it. I wouldnt havemindedto pay for the part as a additionalcharge when they were here the first time. But to be told it would be an additional charge of $300++ to do it, well ridiculous 🤦🏽♀️. But the kicker to all of this is that the manager that called me said there is normally a charge of $175 or so just for the plumber to come out and look and tell me what he needs to do. I mean, just to look down that septic hole $175??? But no he was generous and "waived" it only for the plumber to tell me the fix would cost $300++ for a $45 part on Amazon that do not need anything other then to be threatened through a pipe and plugged in...
Insane! Sorry but no, I will not be hiring them f9r th8s and I have let me neighbors know to be careful!
Plus my broken tile was never addressed.
Needless to say, I need to look into a different company for the future.
We had our septic tank pumped yesterday by Wind River Environmental (formerly Brownie's), and I cannot say enough good things about Matthew B., the technician who handled our service.
Matthew located our septic tank within minutes—a huge relief given the age of our home and uncertainty about the tank location. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and communicated clearly throughout the entire process, explaining what he was doing and what we should expect at each step.
Our holiday plans were temporarily derailed by this issue, but Matthew’s efficiency and expertise got us back on track quickly and with minimal stress. He truly went above and beyond.
Outstanding service from start to finish. Give this man a raise!
They were very helpful from the moment I made the phone call. I only needed pump out service. Jean S was our service person and found the tanks (we didn’t know where the tanks were at). The yard was left in great shape - no messes.
He was very helpful and obviously knew his job, well. Bad news was - I had 2 tanks! He was awesome! I strongly recommend the service!
Thank You, Jean!
Since Wind River acquired Brownie's it has sucked. We used Brownie's for 12 years with zero issues. Two years ago we had issues with Wind River for an appointment to inspect and pump out. Three weeks ago I made another appointment, this time to replace a high level float and alarm that are old and dilapidated. Also, something in the septic system continues to trip the GFCI receptacle to which equipment is connected. A local electrician inspected and replaced the outlet and installed a new one and informed us that the septic equipment is tripping the GFCI.
I made the appointment a week in advance for a Friday. They no-showed, first claiming "nobody answered the door" (a lie, I was home all day), then said they called a number on the account (my wife's) despite me giving them my contact number when scheduling.
So they came the next day, a Saturday, knowing we wouldn't be home. The service tech dug up the lid to our system, supposedly checked everything and called me (the correct number this time) and told me nothing is wrong and everything is working fine. He told me he did not have the high level float and alarm on the truck and someone would return on Monday. Two days later, the GFCI tripped again. Wind River never called and never returned to replace the high level float and alarm (which I plainly asked to be replaced when I made the appointment) or further diagnose what is tripping the GFCI. They left a mess but they made sure to charge my credit card, which they insist having on file before coming to your location, for $176.
Don't walk away from these clowns, run.
