I recently brought my son’s car to Boulder Valley Automotive
while he’s at college, and I couldn’t be happier with their service. They handled both routine maintenance and a few unexpected repairs quickly and professionally. The staff is friendly, trustworthy, and really takes the time to explain what’s needed. It’s such a relief knowing he has a dependable mechanic nearby. I highly recommend Boulder Valley Automotive to anyone looking for honest, reliable automotive service. We’ll definitely keep going back as long as he’s in school.
I brought my car in last year and had a horrible experience with Boulder Valley Automotive. I was told it would be ~$2k to fix everything on my car, and since it had less than 100k miles, I decided that was worth it. However, after getting my car serviced, it came out making even more noises (that weren’t previously there), and I was then quoted an additional $1500 to fix additional problems that they “just noticed”. Had I known it would be $3500 for everything, I definitely wouldn’t have had it serviced. Also, after they replaced the brakes, they were squeaking/rubbing so loudly that I had to bring my car back and get them re-done as they had made a mistake when replacing them. I definitely don’t recommend this place after my experience.

Came to Boulder Valley automotive in part because of positive Google Reviews. I will not be going back unless it’s for them to fix what they broke. Had my spark plugs replaced back in March, but on my last visit, it was noted that my sparks plugs are worn and need to be replaced. Darren claimed he made a mistake. However, I don’t think I can trust this shop because they are either lying or incompetent.
After receiving my car back from the same repair job that it was noted I would need new spark plugs, my check engine light came on after a few miles of driving. I didn’t want to pay for another diagnostic after paying $1200 for a new timing chain. Turns out all of the codes that were displaying from the check were because they broke my air filter housing, and someone there tried to zip tie it back on. When I went to look at the engine, my air filter, housing was hanging on by one clip, and a zip tie that didn’t hold, and could’ve easily fallen into the engine and more damage. See photos for zip tie, there are supposed to be 4 clips, but there is just 1.
I have jerry-rigged my air filter housing so that it won’t fall into my engine with some exit tape, while I look for a new air-filter housing to have it replaced. Now that the air-filter housing is taped on, I am no longer receiving any codes from the check-engine light and it has remained off for the last 48 hours.
These are the only people that have touched my car since I bought it. So there is no possible way other than their incompetence at not noticing that there was only one clip holding my air filter together, or someone broke it and tried to cover it up a.k.a. lying needless to say I’m very disappointed and the only way Boulder Automotive will get my business is if it is to fix the air filter housing which I’m not sure they are going to do.
In short they tried to suggest I fix something I already paid for, and I’m not certain they did actually change my spark plugs, and they attempted to cover up them breaking a major part of my car.
Don’t trust this shop.
