Car quit driving. Wouldn’t move forward or backward and wasn’t quiet about it. Had it towed to Al’s on Sunday when he wasn’t even open. Drove it off Al’s lot Monday afternoon (that’s the next day, for those keeping score) with a new CV Axle Shaft and Stabilizer Bar Link for $800, parts and labor. I know Amazon parts aren’t always the best marker, but another shop charged me $450 for a coolant pump listed on Amazon for $150 last year. $169 to $153 for an axle shaft seems more in the realm of what’s reasonable. Everything with cars costs too much these days, but everything about Al’s shop seemed unpretentious and trustworthy. Five stars, would trust again.
