UPDATE NOV 2024: Fence was modified by someone Rich worked with one time. Without any compensation for the boards removed that should have never been installed. This was after it was discovered Rich doesn't live in Colorado full-time, which was another surprises. I wouldn't have worked with a company that was only here to profit from Coloradans - or that would not be here to help. From the time we were notified by the city of the issue, Rich scheduled one of his team members with us at least 3x only to cancel after they were supposed to arrive. It became clear the workers didn't care to help or didn't respect Rich to get involved, I couldn't tell which. Over Thanksgiving weekend particularly, we changed and then missed plans waiting on one of his associates only for the holiday to be filled with stress and cancelled plans that could have been kept. 2 days before the fines started is when an associated of Rich's came to fix the fence. He was great but told me clearly, he only met Rich once and could tell he was in a bind. Because he didn't live here. Not once did Rich apologize. Not for taking the time to look at city code. Not for charging me extra time and adding extra time to the project while paying for materials to be ripped out. Not for taking our holiday weekend. Not at all. What a disappointing experience! I wouldn't hire Rich or his team if we had to do it all over again. What I didn't disclose on the first review, the project took 2 weeks. It should have been a quick project but we were patient as we liked Rich. We found a different version of him when something was wrong. Also, the gate wasn't installed flush so it's angled, which isn't ideal. Looking back, we would have paid the deposit and hired a company who would have installed in 3-4 days and with the city code in mind. Lesson learned! OCT 2024: We were notified that our fence was in violation of Aurora City code and that daily fines would be coming if we didn't make adjustments to the fence. WHOA. We hired a company to avoid this EXACT issue. It was a shock to say the least. JULY 2023: Our project involved replacing a double sided fence we shared with our kind neighbor that was about 20 years old and falling down along with a gate replacement. It also included the construction of a fence out of desperation for some bad renters on the other side who have impacted our sleep for more than a year. The situation with them escalated and the fence became a need for protection, privacy, and peace of mind - along with a little noise reduction for the worst kind of human beings. Rich stepped up in every way! His proposal was in the range of others but Affordable Fence didn't require deposit - and my kind neighbor really appreciated this, as many companies do want money up front. For my neighbor who was sharing the cost, this was a dealbreaker. Working with Rich and our crew (Spencer + Lauren) was easy. Our project presented challenges with tree removal but Rich and the team worked around it to help us establish a new fence where we needed one most. Our new fence looks wonderful and we felt we paid a fair price and received good service and quality. If you have a fence project, I would recommend meeting Rich and getting a quote.
