Be VERY careful with this contractor and do your research. We hired AHC for a $90k remodel which ended up 40% higher cost and 4 months past deadline. On top of that, despite the fact that our home was a "down to the studs" reno, not one permit was pulled - nor was even one city inspection completed. While being managed by AHC, our property was red-tagged by the city and work stopped completely for unlicensed and shoddy work. Despite six weeks of subsequent back and forth with AHC -- literally begging him to take care of the inspections with the city -- we ended up having to complete the inspections with the city ourselves and had to spend ano... Despite six weeks of subsequent back and forth with AHC -- literally begging him to take care of the inspections with the city -- we ended up having to complete the inspections with the city ourselves and had to spend another $10k to correct plumbing issues. (Large screwdriver in the pipes, non-code compliant gas lines... plus so much more.) Two of our large picture windows now have cracked (less than six months after Adam Heath completed construction.) And on top of that, now that temps are declining and we are using our heating unit for the first time, just yesterday we learned the electric wiring is faulty. Thank God we caught the problem before the wire completely melted, otherwise it could have been a very real fire hazard. The number of issues with our home is truly stunning. Again, BE VERY CAREFUL with this contractor.
We initially hired AHC to remodel one bathroom and convert a bedroom into a master closet in our very modest 1450sq ft home. When we freed up more funds, we expanded the project into a full house custom remodel. It took us several months to settle on the details and materials, during which the only thing they did was demo, and that was fine. Hiwever, once we were prepared on our end, work still did not progress at a reasonable pace. They would work for a few days, at most, then disappear for weeks until we put pressure on them. Communication is awful! Once he had our money, we could hardly ever get Adam on the phone. Instead, we were supposed... Hiwever, once we were prepared on our end, work still did not progress at a reasonable pace. They would work for a few days, at most, then disappear for weeks until we put pressure on them. Communication is awful! Once he had our money, we could hardly ever get Adam on the phone. Instead, we were supposed to email Stephanie, who talked to Abigail, who talked to Adam, who talked to Cody, who talked to the subs. So many mistakes were made because of this unprofessional communication. The final straw was when they delivered our very expensive “custom” cabinets and every drawer was 2.25” deep or less! That’s when he walked off the project leaving us after a year, with no fully functioning bathroom or kitchen. We have to live in an RV in our driveway. The stress contributed to my husband having a stroke! Now they are trying to charge us for items we haven’t received and work they have not done. Unless your project is VERY simple, and you are in no rush, I would not advise even considering Adam Heath Construction.
They built me a home. He talked a good game and said all the right things………then we signed. He asked for more money a few days after the contract was signed. I told him to eat crow so he tried to nickel and dime me throughout the project. He was extremely late on project, there never was a schedule. It was hit or miss on days he would work on my house. It took 13 months when the first thing I asked for was I’m looking for someone who can do it in 8-9 max. Don’t use them but if you do get an attorney to protect you. Generic contracts aren’t the way to go with this one, they got those figured out. If you are new to this, and don’t really unde... They built me a home. I spent nearly 500k with this company and wasn’t comfortable at all during this process.
