Hire A&O to fix some gates. They never showed up for the job. Hire somebody else.

A&O built a great fence, but the job came with a serious hidden cost — A&O did not pull a permit with the city, and I am now being fined as a result. When I reached out to resolve the issue, my calls went unanswered and were never returned. This is a simple fix that A&O has chosen to ignore entirely, leaving both the city and me without any response or resolution.

Terribly disappointing experience with A&O. Our initial interaction was quick and painless. Diego was able to squeeze in my quote same day and even came to the property. Upfront we discussed the 3 Rail flat top and ultimately decided on the aluminum option as Diego said they had plenty in stock because it was such a common fence, as well as this style not being made in iron(or so we were told). All is said and done we sign the quote, and were told if the down payment was paid by Friday they could have everything installed that next Wednesday. The payment was made timely and we were assured we were on the schedule for Wednesday. As our install date came, we have not heard anything from A&O until we made calls around 10 Am. Diego failed to answer or return our calls so we called the office number and spoke to daisy, one of the project managers. She informed me the material was not in stock and that they would use different suppliers to provide the material to complete the job. My wife, father in law (who drove from San Antonio) and my self all took off work to see the project complete and to be able to answer to any questions in real time. After 10AM daisy gets back to us at noon saying they did not have the material for same day install and would get back to us in an hour. 8PM rolls around and Diego called with different options than what was promised. Adding to the fact this material would have to be ordered in and they could do the job in 1-2 weeks. We chose to withdraw our deposit and use another install service. After requesting our deposit back, We were told Diego would process the deposit next day and send confirmation. I instead received text from another project manager, apologizing and trying to take over our job and promising a better experience and recovery. All in all we refused their service and took 4 full days for the deposit to be returned. Totally off putting experience from what seemed like a safe and friendly option from the online reviews. The communication was a massive failing point and was very disappointing.

I requested fence installation quotes for 95’ of metal fencing with two gates from several local companies around Arlington & Mansfield. After assembling all returned quotes A&O seemed to be the better value. Diego came to the house to measure and look at the details. We asked for the Iron fence option listed on the proposal which was cheaper than Aluminum. Diego then tells us the iron fence was not available in the 4’ 3-rail style we wanted but the Aluminum 4’ 3-rail style was very much available and easily accessible. The price of the aluminum style was more expensive but we decided to go with that anyway because it was in stock and immediately available. We wanted the fence installed ASAP and Diego said he would have the work done next week Wednesday if we paid the deposit by Friday which we paid. We paid the deposit and were told the crew would be at our house the next Wednesday to install the fence. Three of us took the day off work to be at home when the fence was being installed, I drove up from San Antonio to be there (4.5 hour drive each way). Wednesday arrives and nobody shows up in the morning. We call Diego around 10am or so with no answer to phone calls from the office or text messages to Diego. Around noon Daisy the Project Manager gets back with us and informs us they did not have enough of the fence to do our small job. This is not what we were told. So now we all took off work and I drove from SA the evening before just to be there and now it’s not happening as promised. Daisy tells us she will try to get more material that afternoon and get back to us in 30 minutes or so. The whole day goes by without any communication and we are getting very frustrated since Daisy or Diego is not answering their phones or texts. Diego gets back to us around 8pm and gives us 3 options that all needed to be ordered, not what we were wanting and would not be available until the next week. That was not what we were told the entire time we set this work up. We asked for our deposit back and were told it would be done the next morning and did not happen for 4 days. The communication and professionalism from this team was extremely disappointing.
