I bought a Sunheat SH-1500 portable heater in 2009. It has proven to be the perfect solution for a finished basement in a house with a forced air furnace. We couldn't keep our lower level warm because the furnace-heated-air simply rose to the upper level and the lower level remained cool. Living in a northern state, our winter seasons are long and cold. It was suggested to me that I buy an infrared heater and the man that provided the recommendation told me why I should only buy one made by Sunheat. I am so glad I listened. It has provided years of reliable service. After 13 winter seasons, in 2022, I ran into my first real maintenance issue. The fan became so noisy that I bought a replacement fan directly from Sunheat. It was not hard to replace it by myself and I got by for two more years. Then it wasn't throwing much heat anymore, so I bought a full set of elements which I was able to replace by myself. This year, the power switch quit working. But again, I was able to replace that by myself. I can't imagine that there are very many portable heaters that provide wonderful comfort, relative quiet, and 17 years of service. I love that the company offers user replaceable parts with downloadable step by step instructions. Quality company, quality products; and when needed, quality parts.
