I recently had work done on my 2024 BMW 750 at The Automotive Toy Store, and it was hands-down the best experience I’ve ever had. The team was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to every detail. The car turned out absolutely phenomenal. I couldn’t be happier with the results and highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-quality automotive work
I really wanted to like the experience I had here I had multiple friends that had work done by them…. For me it will be my last time ever going here…. I had an audio system installed 6 months ago that was the biggest hack job ever… I went back 6 times and still left with problems first the subwoofer was wired incorrectly and took power from the front speakers, next there was alternator whine and interference which he installed a 20 year old used DSP to fix who’s Bluetooth chip was fried and could not be adjusted…. I agreed to the used hardware but I was not told it was 20 years old and when he wasn’t able to adjust it he just swept that under the rug saying it’s working because it fixed the whine issue…. After the DSP install I started getting an unbalance the right side was way louder than the left… they swore it wasn’t because of the POS 20 year old DSP and said it was a head unit issue I dealt with it by balancing it on the head unit…. Aside from that the connections were all hack jobs just twisted together with electric tape not professional… they used crimp connectors for the DSP but I guess it wasn’t important for the amp because they didn’t use it there, the stranded wire separates and breaks when you tighten down the screw when you don’t use crimp connectors as a professional this should be the bare minimum for wire connections…. I mean one side it was used the others it wasn’t… he used old RCA cables that he just had lying around half of them lost their tension on the plug…. He made me cut out the cubby I had under my seat saying that the sub wouldn’t fit behind the seat… he didn’t even try and test it just cut right away… they also kept my OEM speakers, they didn’t even ask if I wanted them they were just never seen after the install, what if I get a new car and want to swap the aftermarket speakers, I can’t because I wasn’t given my OEM speakers back after the job…. 6 months later my sub stopped working the last thing I wanted to do was take it back here so I took it to another reputable shop on the island they saw the hack job of the wiring and were embarrassed for the toy store horrible splice and wires everywhere in the open… turns out the subwoofer was out because of the RCA cable which was used and had years of wear to begin with supplied by the toy store…. I had to dish out an extra $1000 for them to fix the wiring mess and replace the DSP because it turns out the POS 20 year old DSP he sold me was the problem of the speakers being unbalanced…. And he cleaned up his wiring mess, the new shop used the appropriate splice connectors and crimp connectors for all the connections like professionals that are being paid for jobs… I have posted pictures showing the sub in the original spot and you can see the cubby is missing a section and in the picture of today’s revamp you can see it clearly fits behind the seat with more than enough room to sit comfortable… also pictures of the difference between their twist and electric tape splices vs a professional using a splice adapter… if the toy store put in extra effort in standing by their job I wouldn’t of minded paying extra for a new DSP but instead to save me $200 he kept the fact that it was 20 years old and didn’t function properly hidden and let me walk away and ended up costing me $1000 more down the road… in the end I am 1000x more happy with the job the new shop did to fix their mess and everything is wired professionally and functions perfectly and it only took me 1 visit as opposed to 6 at the toy store and still leaving with problems…. Oh and toy store also sold me ridiculously overpriced fog lights…. $150 for the pair that crapped out after 2 months… I thought by paying more I’d be getting quality but was just handed junk
Went in to fix my usb port for my CarPlay in my car, gave me the lowest price compared to every other mechanic out there, and got the job done fast and efficiently! First time going there and will definitely be back for other services! The front desk worker is also super nice and is always willing to help with information!
Sound Sight and Security AKA “Toy Store” is the only place I go to for mods. These guys are the best at what they do! I always look forward to having them add modifications. They can do just about anything to a car. I have been going there for many years, and only trust their work. They are all about cars, trucks, and SUV’s and pretty much anything with wheels on it. There is nothing they can’t do with a car. If you want to customize your vehicle go to Sound Site and Security! I Highly I recommend them……
