**Absolutely UNREASONABLE Rate - 0 star here!! ** On 2/2/2026, we requested a RupCoe technician to come fix a leaky water connection pipe under our utility sink, and requested to replace 2 shut-off valves running along the same 0.5 inch copper water line that supplies water to the same utility sink in the laundry room. I was not home due to a business trip, and my wife had too much to handle with a new born. RupCoe's technician came, looked underneath the sink and checked out the 2 other valves that we want to replace. He spent a total of 3 minutes inside my home. Remind you that a brand new ball valve costs $10.98 at our local Home Depot, and we already have the spared parts available, all he need to do is to solder nd re-attach the one pipe under the utility sink and replace two existing valves on a copper line. No drilling, everything is clearly exposed, not digging into any wall or doing any outside work, just need to work in the laundry room and in a heated basement where the pipes are TOTALLY exposed and ready to be worked on. The RupCoe technician provided an estimate of $1,022 ($374 + $274 +$374) BEFORE TAX. I immediately Knew this kind of pricing is TOTALLY ridiculous. I tried to reason with the technician, he and I agreed that the entire job would take less than 15 minutes. He would not change the price. And, we immediately declined the outrageous quote and called another local plumber while he was walking out my property. The second licensed plumber showed up the same day moments later and fixed EVERYTHING mentioned above, plus replaced one additional valve as a "precaution", the total came to $236 in change. I rounded it up and paid the second licensed plumber $260. So, from over $1,000 + quoted, to $260 including tips. I will let you be the judge on who is practicing predatory pricing here. Personally, I will never call them again! **UPDATE** On 2/4/26, they ended up charged me the $63.92 "dispatch fee". Out of principle, I called them back, got transfer to "Jim" the manager, he was chewing gum while speaking with me, I tried to explain to Jim at RupCoe that his technician provided an reasonable quote... Jim said "I am going to have Ebony to call you tomorrow morning...", look, by all fairness, I did call at 3:26pm, perhaps that maybe around closing time, I accepted his response and kept it very cordial with Jim and the young female dispatcher who answered the call earlier. Ebony called me back on 2/5/26 in the morning, I explained the whole experience and the crazy quote again to her, she replied "that is the pricing.... and no, we don't refund our dispatch fee". Judging by my experience, I have reason to believe RupCoe is running a dishonest operation, their people showed up and provided you with an unreasonablely high estimate.... (Option #1) if you decline, they collect the dispatch fee; or (Option #2) if you accept their outrageously high quote, you may suffer an even greater financial ripped off. *** I have proof and I can 100% back up EVERYTHING I wrote here, I welcome any challenge or inquiry ***
