Brought my PS5 due to it automatically shutting down after playing for about 30 mins. Would not turn back on until it cooled. So I knew it was an overheating issue and needed to be repasted. Told the repair person this. He told me he would have it done within an hour. He called me back in about 25 mins and said he fixed it. Told me it was a "vent connector issue". Brought it home, set it back up. 30 mins later same thing happened again. PS5 got hot again and shut down and would not turn back on. Told me to bring it back with the cord this time. He plugged it in and turned it on. Ran it for about 5 mins and said it isn't an overheating issue b... Brought my PS5 due to it automatically shutting down after playing for about 30 mins. Ran it for about 5 mins and said it isn't an overheating issue because he's had it on and it isn't getting hot now. Mind you, he doesn't have it hooked up to a screen and isn't playing a game. Anyone who knows anything about gaming systems or PCs, knows that you have to be playing a game, and the more graphically intense the game, the hotter the system will run because you are stressing the system. So he had it on, on the Playstation home screen, not doing anything. He then tells me that it must be a different issue because he fixed it. I asked him what did he do to fix it. He says that that's none of my business. He's the "technician" and he fixed it. I told him that this issue had been happening for the past couple of weeks and after you "fixed" it, it's still doing the exact same thing. So I would like to know exactly what it is that you say you "fixed". Told me he doesn't have to answer me. If you look online, this is a known issue and the exact symptoms of a PS5 overheating issue. He charged me $160. I got my money back. He told me never to come back to the store. Why would anyone ever go back to a store they felt they were scammed & disrespected at? I brought it to UBreakIfix. Explained what was happening & guess what they said? Sounds like an overheating issue. We will replace the heating pads and re-solder the liquid metal the PS5 uses to cool down the chip and clean out the system. And it was $140. Cheaper then this scamming shack and actual work being done. Do not go here!
