Repair & Replace Skylights NY

I was in need of a new skylight. I had contacted several companies for estimates. All references were quite high except for this company. My contact was Doug, and his estimate was the lowest, but that was not the only reason I chose him to do the job. He came to my house and went up on my roof. He had seen that there were several leaks in the roof around the skylight and sealed them on the spot. He said the skylight was not the problem and yet all other contractors said skylight. He did not accept a payment from me for his efforts. He had a very nice unit with him and I told him I wanted that unit anyway as my skylight was very old and an eyesore to boot. I texted him and set up the job for Wednesday, the same day as this post I am submitting. I was super impressed with Doug's honesty in not wanting to sell me something I didn't need, and that he is just a really nice guy, period. The job is done well, very neat, looks great, cost hundreds less than the closest estimate, and my wife and I are thrilled at the massive improvement it has made. I highly recommend this company without question.

He immediately got back to me and scheduled a viewing for an estimate at no cost. We were able to replace a 1960’s skylight that cracked. He replaced a plastic dome with an update glass skylight in mist of summer. He was also able to give us some informative feedback about our roof ventilator. It's hard to find an honest contractor like Doug. I had an old leaky skylight for months, just called Doug and the reply was almost instantly. He stopped by the same day to assess the Job and in 2 days I had an estimate with different options to choose from (Fix the leak, replace it or to upgrade it to a more modern skylight like automatic or remote opening). His communication is unrivaled. Always calling or texting to let you know the status of your project. On time, quality work with very competitive pricing. Will definitely use him again. Oh did I mention what a great personality he has?

I had a skylight about 25 years old that was leaking About a dozen skylight companies came to look and many never quoted or returned my calls. One actually wanted to charge $1800 to seal it! The company I used came quoted and actually sealed it immediately until the new one was built. Doug told me it had been custom built and he would be able to build a new one in 4 weeks. I highly recommend Doug. He is honest and a hard worker and delivers a fine product. He also fixed my crumbling chimney and did a fantastic job on that as well Doug is a marvelous resource for any homeowner looking for quality work. He is dependable and is a man of his word showed up on time and calls if there is a delay. Friendly and a pleasant person!
