I had a very disappointing experience. My shoes were kept for several months with no proactive updates. The only information I received was when I reached out myself to check on the status. After all that time, I was informed that they were unable to complete the repair. To make matters worse, an accessory I had provided with the shoes was lost. The lack of communication and care was frustrating and unacceptable.
I didn't use their service, but I went in to talk to them about repairing my suitcase. They were very honest with me and told me that because of where the ditching was coming out, it needed to be sewn by hand and the cost was more than what I paid for the suitcase since I got it on discount. I very much appreciate their honesty.
I’ve had a few repairs completed here and the work was satisfactory, unfortunately though the customer service today was horrific. I arrived to pick up my repaired suitcase which had already been paid for based on their polices. I waited 5 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. Both people were visibly in sight but didn’t notice me for quite a while… turned out one was wearing AirPods. When she finally saw me she asked me to wait a moment. Once at the front desk she took an incoming phone call and helped that person with a repair estimate. Why would you make a customer who has already paid wait, while you take a phone call from a non paying individual?? The proper thing is to answer the call and ask to put them on brief hold. When I expressed my frustration with having waited 10 minutes at this point the sales associate (possibly the owner?)… asked the person on the phone to wait while she went on to express her anger at me!! I was appalled and asked her to finish her call while I waited (again!). I’m more than happy to be patient and wait my turn, but this was totally inappropriate. To the business… you can do the best work in town, but you need to work on how you treat your customers.
I bought my daughter a purse in Italy and even though we checked to make sure the strap was there we missed the fact that one of the clips was missing. After a few tries to get a new strap I decided to just get new clips put on.
Everyone in there is very friendly and helpful and the purse strap looks great. They used brand new hardware ( other places I’ve been to try to use left overs from old purses) and they did a beautiful job.
I will go back again.
I am beyond pleased with the quality of work that was done at the Parole Shoe & Luggage Repair Shop. I recently went to the shop with the hope that they would accept my challenge of converting a shoulder bag into a backpack. This was no ordinary shoulder bag. My two year old son has a trach and is vent dependent. His ventilator weighs a whopping 45 lbs and I have to carry it everywhere he goes. The vent is critical in sustaining my son’s life; and as my little warrior learns how to walk, carrying around such heavy equipment is quite taxing on my shoulders. I ordered a military style harness on-line and asked Melissa, the cobbler, if she could attach the harness to the vent bag. She listened carefully to my vision and within a week presented a finished product that literally became a game changer in our lives. We now have more freedom to move around, as I carry the vent on my back, with the weight evenly distributed. I left the shop with tears of joy. Happy with a job well done! Who knew that my experience with this shop would have such a lasting impact on our lives?! Thank you Melissa!
