Nelson refinished my living room and dining room floors. At first he was pleasant, but one thing after another has me leaving this not-so-positive review. My house is 150 years old and there were gaps in between the planks. Nelson filled them with filler. When I could peer in and see what that looked like, I texted him and said that it didn’t match the wood like I’d expected. That’s all I said. The next thing I knew, his crew was gone. When I asked what was going on, he replied, “Well, you said you didn’t like the job we were doing so I pulled the crew and sent them to another job.” At that point, I had to beg him to send them back to finish. When the job was finished and I could finally enter the two rooms, I noticed that they’d left something on the floor and polyurethaned around it. I had to call him to send someone back to fix that. (See pic) Also, he told me that a small section of wood in the dining room was cracked and they’d replace it. Instead of replacing it with pieces going in the same direction as the planks, he took the easy way out and cut one larger piece to fit, but going in the opposite direction as the planks.(See pic) Needless to say, I didn’t see this until I could enter the room and all of the sanding and coating was finished. Against my better judgment, I contracted him to refinish my bedroom floor. I confirmed the date with him on at least two occasions. The day before he was to come, my neighbor and I cleared all the furniture and artwork out of the room in preparation. He never showed up and after multiple attempts to contact him, I heard back days later. He said he was out of the country and he’d call me when he got back. That call never came. Meanwhile, all of the filler is coming out of the seams in the living room and dining room, crumb, by crumb. Every day I’m picking up pieces of it. I found someone else to do my bedroom. He also used filler in the gaps and I haven’t found one crumb, ever. When Nelson was doing my floors, he was barely there. He left crews to do whatever and was constantly going to “meetings.” My floors look better than they had before, but had I known then what I know now, I wouldn’t go anywhere near this company.
