I had an excellent experience with John at MYK Camera Repair and cannot recommend him highly enough. I brought in my Sony A7RIV after a broken Godox trigger left plastic lodged inside the hot shoe. John was honest, responsive and straightforward from the very first email. He clearly explained what he would try to do, gave a fair quote and most importantly did not upsell or push unnecessary work. The repair was completed very quickly, cleanly and professionally. John personally showed me what he did, invited me to test the hot shoe myself with a flash and Sony microphone, and made sure everything was functioning perfectly before I left. The camera looks untouched, with no scratches or signs of invasive repair, which is exactly how I hoped it would have been done. What really stood out was his integrity. After evaluating the repair, John adjusted the final cost to reflect the actual work performed, which speaks volumes about his honesty and character. It genuinely felt like he approaches his work out of passion and care for the craft, not simply for profit. That level of transparency and trustworthiness is very rare.
