Mountain Stove & Jakes Chimney Sweep

The only reason they are getting two stars is because they fixed the problem and did the right thing. We purchased a pellet stove from Jake's Chimney Sweep in 2019. We called them beginning of January for them to come out and look at the stove since we had been having some issues. The technician that was sent out clearly did not know much about the model of pellet stove we had. Upon cleaning the stove pipe out on the outside, we heard him hit the fan multiple times with his spinning brush. He later mentioned to us right before starting the stove up that he had dropped a pellet behind everything. Upon starting the stove, it automatically made a very loud squeaking noise which, continued while the stove was running. We turned the stove off (which he did not know how to do) and he looked at the fan once it cooled down enough to do so. Finding a bent blade on the fan... he tried to straighten the blade out as best he could. But upon start up again it continued to make that sound. The next day we heard from the company and they tried to blame it on us claiming that we had neglected the pellet stove. Because of ONE area that was not cleaned. When the stove prior to the tech coming out was NOT making that sound and not to mention was clean (he even stated it) minus that ONE spot. They continued to place blame on us based on this ONE spot. We went back and forth and as I stated above they did the right thing and covered it fully... no cost to us. We just had the fan installed and while they fixed the problem. The treatment we got was less then desirable. They continued to blame us stating, that the issue was from years of epic non maintenance to the stove. Which is simply NOT true. The way they handled this situation was not it. At. All. Disappointed is an understatement. We will NOT be calling them out for anything as they simply just place the blame on the customer and leave snarky comments in the description box. Just know if you have an issue most likely you will be blamed and they will back their techs all day long.

Mountain Stove is fantastic! Professional, knowledgeable, and they care about their customers! 5 stars aren’t enough! My wife and I had been looking at getting a Hearthstone wood stove for a few years, so when it was time to move forward with it, we reached out to one of the few Hearthstone dealers we could find. After being blown off by that company 3 times, we heard about Mountain Stove from a friend and went to check them out. We are so glad we did! The reps on the floor were very friendly and welcoming, and very knowledgeable. They were never pushy, but happy to give guidance when requested. We had MANY questions, and the reps were always very patient and we never felt rushed. We were kept informed through every step of the process, and when it came time for install, the crew was prompt, courteous, and very professional. We had a minor issue pop up after the install that we believed may have been caused by the installation, so I contacted the company and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly we received a response from the owner with several suggestions. It turned out that the problem had nothing to do with the stove, so their installation was flawless and we couldn’t be happier! I’ve had some unfortunate experiences recently with several other companies that don’t value or prioritize taking care of their customers, so working with Mountain Stove has been wonderfully refreshing and an absolute pleasure. We will definitely be working with them again! Thank you Mountain Stove!!
