Charged us $275 to spray our belts with belt conditioner. Told us the belts needed to be replaced, paid them again to replace to belts only to have the issue return.
Out of pocket over $700 on this repair and turned out we just needed a spring adjustment that none of their techs identified.
We have instructed our managment they can no longer use this company for gate repairs.
We needed a new fence and contacted our neighbors on all sides to see about sharing the cost. In total we ended up with 5 houses replacing part or all of their fencing. After looking at reviews, we chose Modern and the other households agreed. They told us it would take 3 days, after 7 months it still wasn't done. We finally just paid the bill to be done with it and fix the rest ourselves because they kept hounding us about the bill despite not being finished. It was a nightmare. A few of the issues: they moved the fence from the original location in multiple places including at one point moving the property line by over a foot. They eventually had to tear out the entire backside fence and build it again. We asked for the same gates we had previously. They built completely different gates. We asked them to fix them so they rebuilt them. Also completely wrong. They came and rebuilt them a third time but one gate and its adjoining fence were different heights and the gate isn't vertical. One set of neighbors finally built their own gates (and still paid in full) because Modern never showed up to do it. The fence on one side of our yard has warped boards and the tops of the pickets are jagged and uneven. They left the previous posts in the ground and cut them just above ground level. We couldn't even open one gate all the way because of a previous post. I had to cut them. They also moved our gates about 2 ft forward from where they were previously. No idea why. I am not a complainer in general and I understand no job is going to be perfect, but this wasn't even close. We would call to let them know about issues and they'd send someone out, they'd take notes on the issues, send out a crew, and they'd take care of one or two issues and just leave the others - and then tell us we needed to pay the balance. So we'd have to call again and repeat the process. I have no idea how many times they sent a crew out to do something only for them to do part of the list and then leave. We feel like complete jerks to our neighbors because we were the ones that chose the company and every neighbor had similar issues that they had to deal with. I would not recommend them and do not plan to do business with them in the future. All photos are from today - issues they never fixed (uneven pickets, post I dug and cut so the gate could open, unlevel gate, warped boards).
