James is great to work with and has reasonable prices. Had a interior wall installed, new door hung, and doorway sealed. Project started 10am Monday finished 3-4pm Tuesday. Was installed quickly but there were some underlying issues because of the speed of installation. Walls did not have insulation in them even though the contact stated a insulation charge, sure Insulation is not needed interior but it's a added charge should be in the wall irregardless and it doesn't hurt. Walls themselves are pretty straight and sturdy. Door did not close properly because strike plate was improperly installed easy fix, it was a completely prehung prefabricated door so I'm unsure if the strike plate was improperly installed from the box but it's something to keep an eye out. The frame of the prehung door was okay quality but I guess that's what you get with convenience there was a big gap in the corner that was not flush with my wall because of house settling issues but I will have to fill it with something. Contract stated a paint ready surface but was far from it alot of divots, scratches, buldges, uneveness and areas that were never touched, not a good level of finish to paint unfortunately I will have to go back over it myself to get surface truly paint ready. Backside of doorway that was sealed had OSB but was never fully seated flush with existing wall nor was it fully secured to the studs. Stated such to helper before he mudded over the gaps but came back in and he had just slapped thick mud over it all and called it a day. Unfortunately it will crack eventually because it's foundation was never sturdy in the first place. General area was pretty messy afterwards, to be expected but not to this level. James did mop before he left every day but no prep was done ahead of time for the mudding and sanding so alot of it got caked on the floor even after quick mop. Hose head was completely sealed in drywall mud luckily it's a easy clean but still. Biggest issue was the dust, towards the end everything seemed a bit rushed to finish including the sanding, an electric sander was used to save on time but a vacuum was never used in tandem with it, So the dust went everywhere on every single wall, the ceilings and every single imaginable surface in the rooms including vents. Had to spend at least 6-8 hours just cleaning out the rooms because of all the dust everywhere including changing my HVAC filters twice. A lot of it could have been avoided with proper plastic prep, a vacuum and a good ol sanding block. Overall it was a nice price for the wall and I'm lazy and did not want to do it myself it is unfortunate I have to go back and fix things. I will probably not be hiring James again but I am thankful for his time.
