Theo has always been upfront and honest from day one. I inherited a 2014 Buick Encore — and if you know those vehicles, you know they’re known for certain turbo-related issues. Before anything even went wrong, Theo explained what problems are common with that model, what I could expect long-term, and what the potential costs would be if I planned to keep it. No pressure. No scare tactics. Just facts. He’s always been transparent with pricing. In fact, he has encouraged me to compare prices if I wanted to. That kind of confidence says a lot. I’ve never felt overcharged, and I’ve always felt informed. This isn’t a dealership — it’s a skilled, adaptable mechanic shop that works on all kinds of vehicles. I’ve seen everything come through their bays. They do their best with the resources available and give you realistic options. The first time I went there I had several major repairs. The bill was $3000 but I saved easily over $1000 over the majority of estimates I collected and I would've saved more versus some other competitors. That same day, they promised to have the car back for me that night. It took longer for them to get the parts they needed so they actually stayed well after their closing time just to keep their promise to me. I definitely noticed that. Additionally I had some issues with a tire, but because I got the tire from them they fixed it for free. They are honest and very reasonable on the price. The owner is always there and seems like a great, stand up kind of guy. There's only 1 other place I have found around my large area after calling many places for estimates that appear capable of matching them in terms of both price and honesty and I won't say that place here, but I do mention it because if you do actually try and call around to a bunch of different places yourself, you will find that nobody out there seems to be able to actually beat what they have to offer in terms of price, honesty, customer service, and commitment to the customer. There are probably a handful of places here and there that can match what they have to offer but I'm not sure anyone else can truly beat what they have to offer. And they do truly beat out the majority of their competitors across the board. And if you do take the time to call around like I did, you may also perhaps find that a lot of the places you call for estimates won't even call you back. That appears to be a thing. But Joliet Tire & Auto will actually get back to you, and in my experience quickly. I'm happy to have found them as a customer. They are currently as of the time of this review located on Larkin between Theodore and Ingalls in Joliet but will be moving to 1510 Mound Rd in Rockdale next month because it appears the property owners may perhaps be delusional in terms of what they want to charge them for rent. But whatever the case, they have me as a customer wherever they go. I definitely recommend checking with them if you're looking for quality repair and customer service, customer commitment, attention to detail, honesty, and affordability in a sphere where everything always seems to be overly expensive and perhaps a little sketchy as well.
