I have a year old JDM Alpinist that was losing over 30 seconds a day. After a quick consultation, a hairspring adjustment was completed. It has now been 3 weeks and the watch is running within 0.5 seconds a day. I'm very happy with the results 5/5.
The owner/ manager and his employee are both amazing! I dropped off my watch for repairs and was quoted $100 for repair ( other places had quoted me $250+ tax). The watch only cost me $100 so I was not going to pay x3 if it’s value!!!
Itsao, the owner repaired it perfectly, even going the extra mile on a few small things. Plus he had it ready for pick up the next day! Awesome place!
let me share some experiences: I took my Seiko watch in to have the glass replaced. I was initially quoted a price that I understood would cover the full cost of the repair. They took a deposit of over $90 and sent the watch to a depot in Toronto.
After several months with no update, I finally received a call saying that another part needed replacing—but I was assured that the original deposit would still cover everything. That seemed fair, and I expected no additional charges.
However, when I went to pick up the watch, they tried to upcharge me again—this time for shipping the watch to the depot, something that was never discussed or agreed upon. I managed to negotiate the price down, but still ended up paying another $30 out of pocket.
I can’t recommend this place, especially for Seiko repairs. You’re better off dealing directly with Seiko. I contacted Seiko myself upon writing this review and mentioned parts changed and found that this shop was applying about a 40% markup on parts —even the replacement part cost significantly less through Seiko directly can be easily verified by part serial numbers. I understand businesses need to make a profit, but this felt like they were taking advantage.
This wasn’t my only issue, either. I had also brought in an older working watch just to have the crystal replaced. They insisted on doing a full service and wouldn’t proceed with just the crystal replacement, even after I repeatedly asked. They eventually did the work I requested, but returned the watch with noticeable dirt left on the face. Only after bringing it up again did they clean it properly.
Overall, I’m done with this place. The lack of transparency, upselling tactics, and poor attention to detail make it a place I can’t recommend, i have multiple verifiable dealing over the last 3 years with them. Good luck.
