Wonderful place . I have Apple care and chose to go here instead . Very fast , very efficient and so helpful . Went to three shops prior to fix my laptop and they were way more skilled and more helpful . Will go to this place over and over again in a heart beat .
Took my Steam Deck OLED in for a quote only on a loose USB-C port. I told them in person: do not perform any repairs without my approval.
They never called or texted with a quote. Four days later I picked it up and they had already fully disassembled it, replaced the USB-C port, and charged me $120 - none of which I authorized.
Even worse: the volume buttons and headphone jack no longer work at all. Both worked perfectly when I dropped it off. They denied causing the new damage and still wanted payment for the unauthorized repair.
I refused to pay for work I never approved and eventually got my device back only after threatening to file a complaint with NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP).
New York law (General Business Law § 617) requires written or oral authorization recorded on the invoice before any repair over $10, and a written estimate for anything over $100. None of that happened here.
Steam Deck owners especially: AVOID this shop. They did irreversible work without permission and introduced new hardware damage in the process, without so much as an apology.
