Chris R with Home-Tech was fantastic. He was on time, professional and took time to explain everything to me. This is my first experience with Home-Tech and I am very satisfied.
We had him back to change out a thermostat and his service was justas fantastic the second time. We highly recommend Home-Tech
Joshua showed up ASAP. He diagnosed what was wrong with my refrigerator in minutes, had the part in his truck, made the repairs and it was up and running full speed all in less than an hour. Charge was reasonable, especially since it was going into after hours. Will use this company for all future repairs. Joshua could not have been more polite, knowledgeable, efficient and honest. Kudos to you!!!
I very rarely post a complaint on a company. It has to be so flagrant in its bad business practice that I feel compelled to warn good people. Here’s what happened today. I live in Country Club East in Lakewood Ranch and the service contract covered the refrigerator work today. The work to be done today was for both the freezer and to replace the water filter in the refrigerator. I was told the water filter would cost me $50. (I needed Hometech to bring the correct filter because the filter I had did not fit the refrigerator and wanted to insure I had the correct part. They agreed to bring the filter )
The $50 cost was verified by me by speaking to both a tech representative that was in the house last month and the home tech appointment verifier a few days ago. Wouldn’t you expect to pay $50 for the part? I mean if you were told your cost is $50 it’s $50, right?
Nope. The service guy wanted $143 for bringing the filter that costs $50 on Amazon and less than $50 on other sites, and was to be my cost.I said that I was going to ask that they honor the $50 that was promised.
The service maintenance manager Garrett explained that they needed to make money on that filter and he was incredulous that I could expect to pay $50. Garrett said, “ You expect us to not any money on the filter???) He did not believe me ( essentially calling me a liar ) that anyone would tell me it was $50 for the part, and now we are arguing back and forth on the phone, and he’s interrupting me to disagree that I never heard anyone give that price.
Garretts’ solution tells you everything you need to know about Home tech. He instructed his service guy to take the filter out of the refrigerator! He said to me that I could just buy one online, but he will just take back the filter.
At this point I told Garrett that was just terrible business. Now they have a used filter ( will they sell it as new?? ) and a very unhappy customer.
The summing up of this experience is that they acted childish and unprofessional and I felt the need to warn people to stay away from Hometech.
It reminded me of the 8 year old who says “ I am going to leave and take my toy home with me”
Home Tech knocked it out of the park for me. Will F came out today and he was awesome. Super personable, just like the first tech who came out, David. Both guys were professional, friendly, and really easy to work with. Their pricing was very reasonable and every single person I dealt with left a great impression.
Microwave is finally working again and I no longer feel like I’m living on an episode of Little House on the Prairie. I’ll absolutely do business with them again. Great company, great people!
