We paid for a month and we used that month, but did not return. I believe this is a great shop for some learners, but if you are expecting a structured, curriculum-based approach, that was not our experience. Our experience was very laissez-faire, which is not worth money in my mind. I expect a teacher to have a plan before the class, to start a beginner, early leaning student with fundamentals (this is how you hold your hand, this is how you sit, etc). Certainly not to sit a preschool student down and throw time signatures in their face and use terminology (measure, clef, etc) without explaining them, and when the messy half-lesson isn't working too well because you're not explaining anything and scaffolding as a proper teacher does, to just move on to a different activity. Early-learner lessons should be about familiarizing a student with an instrument, with what a lesson should be, and it's no wonder things only somewhat stick when tossed in the deep end. If instructors are not capable or prepared to teach early learners, do not accept early-learner students. So, again, if you expect a traditional lesson structure, maybe not the place for you or your child. If you're already an experienced learner, maybe the space is all you need.
