I visited the jewelry shop to change the battery on a watch and on a clock. I left with both batteries changed, and a beautiful silver ring. Willie, the owner, is kind, attentive to customer concerns’ and professional. His custom made gemstone jewelries are exquisite, such a different and special design, so eye catching. The address is 225 Raritan Ave. Highly recommend.
Willie is absolutely the best jeweler I have met! He listens, provides very sound and educated advise on design, jewelry care and even life. He is the sweetest, kindest and trustworthy person overall. I am so glad I came to him to design our wedding bands. Perfect fit!!
I used to love going in here. I actually bought a ring here once, and I also had a broken ring fixed. One day, years ago, when I was a business owner in town, I went in looking to buy a gorgeous chess set with jade pieces. He had it for a while and I was always looking at it through the window, and finally decided I wanted to buy it. As I was in the store looking for a price tag, the owner abruptly told me the store was closing now. I said “okay, no problem. How much is the chess set?” He said “it’s not for sale,” and I, confused about his attitude, said “okay.” He then walked me to the door and said “hey man, just be your own person man, don... As I was in the store looking for a price tag, the owner abruptly told me the store was closing now. I said “okay, no problem. How much is the chess set?” He said “it’s not for sale,” and I, confused about his attitude, said “okay.” He then walked me to the door and said “hey man, just be your own person man, don’t try to be like other people.” and closed the door in my face with an attitude. I had no idea what he was talking about, and I really don't know him at all, so I said “what do you mean?” He said “you know what I mean” and closed the door in my face. I later saw him walking and asked him what he meant, and he said “be your own person man, you know what you did” again and seemed visibly upset. To this day I still have no clue what he was upset about. My only suspicion is that the back wall in his store was red, and we had recently repainted the back wall of our store red, which was also the color of our logo, and branding. It had nothing to do with him or his business. I ran a vinyl record store in town, which also had nothing to do with his line of work. Still odd to this day, but I thought it was rude, especially since I was a repeat paying customer and, at the time, a fellow business owner on the avenue.
