Terrible experience at Dollar General Distribution Center. I arrived at 9:30 AM and they didn’t finish unloading my truck until 3:00 PM. The staff seemed careless and had no sense of urgency at all. No communication, no updates—just hours of waiting for nothing. One of the worst facilities I’ve delivered to. Definitely not coming back here again.
My appointment time was 1200. I arrived at 0645. I was called to a door at 0815 and was unloaded and on my way out by 0930. They do have a staging area with around 12 parking spots. Drivers seem to have parked there before and after their appointments. When you first get there, either park and walk to the guard shack or drive to the guard shack. Check in. They will send you to the staging area to wait for a call for a door. Stop at the guard shack to receive your paperwork and further instructions. Go to your door, break the seal, put your paperwork in the back of the trailer, slide your tandems, dock, dolly down, disconnect, pull forward, and chock your tires. Then you can either call the number they give you, or use the freightsmith app to check in again and pay the lumper fee. When they are done they will bring your paperwork to you. How long it takes usually depends on the type and amount of product. This time it was very quick unloading. I had 5 pallets of yogurt. Last time it was a hefty Kraft load and they took 8 hours to unload.
Security is great, however because not all the docks are working due to weather damage earlier this year, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, BE HERE ATLEAST 1 HOUR BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT, they have plenty of parking outside and a bathroom behind the security building, all the best

Checked in one hour before my 1100 appointment and was given a door assignment right away. They came out shortly after I got to the door, had me open the trailer and took my paperwork. They started unloading the trailer a couple of minutes after that. The only restroom for drivers is out by the guard shack. I was unloaded and paid a lumper fee just over an hour after arriving. The security guards and the dock staff are very professional and friendly contrary to the reviews I have seen about this place.
