I hired Dayton Ohio Handyman LLC for several projects, but this review focuses on the installation of ceiling fans I purchased. Before the work began, I wasn’t informed that the installation would involve cutting into the drywall or that a permit might be needed. The fans were installed in late September/early October. After waiting several weeks for the wall repairs and final steps to be completed, I consulted a licensed electrician. I was told that new wiring had been added and that this type of work generally requires a permit. The electrician also explained that running wiring through the attic is the standard method for this kind of installation, which avoids cutting into the walls. When I contacted Montgomery County, they confirmed that no permit had been pulled for the project. As a result, I now need to hire a licensed electrician to review the wiring, obtain any required permit, and repair the drywall openings. The fans themselves do work, but the walls were left with holes, and the job wasn’t completed to the level I expected. Edit: Thank you for your response on 24 November 2025. I want to clarify that I am not seeking further assistance or contact. My review is simply a factual account of my experience. The issues raised (unpermitted electrical work, lack of communication about cutting into drywall, incomplete state of the project) were not addressed in your reply. I am sharing this information so that future customers can make informed decisions, and I stand by everything stated in my review. Edit: Thank you for your response on 26 January 2026. I’ve accurately described my experience and stand by the review. I have retained documentation, photos, and third-party professional input supporting the issues raised, which have been provided to the appropriate authorities. I won’t be engaging in further public discussion. This review is intended to inform future customers.
