Very transparent and knowledgeable. Rates do seem to run a bit higher than what most folks may be used to, but you get what you pay for.
They answered all of my questions thoroughly, and didn't try to force any repairs or pressure upsell anything.
Will definitely be back if I ever need any work done.
Allison and BJ were great!
I find Cary Car Care efficient and fair. They don’t seem to push extra services unless really needed. This was my 4th time using them in the last 2 years!!
My mechanics at Cary Car Care are the best. Thoughtful and considerate, they make me feel like a valued customer. My Hybrid Prius vehicle requires a skillfully advancedl team of specialists who can perform the mechanics my car must have to function at its technically best. I found my team at Cary Car Care. Thanks!
Came in and needed my hood fixed as the latch cable had broken, and an oil change as well. I also asked them to look at my heat, as it hasn’t been working properly. I was charged almost $400 just in diagnostic fees, which was not made clear before my appointment. They also weren’t able to tell me what was wrong with the heat. On top of that, I had to pay another $600 just for them to replace my hood latch, do an oil change, and replace the cap of my radiator + fill up my coolant. I understand they have to make money, but the markup on parts was absolutely ridiculous, and charging $190 per hour for labor is as well. Never in my life have I had to pay anywhere near that much for such simple services. I’ve had my entire radiator, water pump, and thermostat replaced for about $900. The employees were nice, and definitely knowledgeable, but the prices are absolutely outrageous. I will never come here again, and would never recommend for someone to. Oh, and my heat isn’t even fixed.
They seemed friendly, knowledgeable, and sincere. However their recommendations and pricing seem dishonest or nonsensical.
Their $180 inspection resulted in recommendations for $7000 of services, including more inspections, for minor issues on a $3500 car (210k mi 2005 Toyota Highlander).
For one example, they recommended replacing a catalytic converter that doesn't need to be replaced. Fine... but the kicker was suggesting, as part of the catalytic converter replacement, to replace 2 properly functioning O2 & 2 Air/Fuel sensors for $1200 in parts cost. These parts cost $200, not 1200. Even trying to find the most expensive I could from multiple vendors, I couldn't find anything totaling even HALF their estimate.
After additional research and consulting a trusted mechanic, most every one of their recommendations were overpriced, dishonest, and/or lacking common sense. Save for the $45 tire rotation which was a good idea.
I probably would have paid for an overpriced $125 oil change and $700 transmission fluid drain&fill + filter change, even though the vehicle doesn't need it yet, if the rest of their suggestions hadn't raised red flags for me.
Also their inspection missed the warped brake rotors, which I even mentioned on the way in as something I was somewhat concerned about.
