During this most recent storm, we still had power, but a red light came on, on our standby generator.
My husband has medical problems and he wouldn't be able to stay without power.
I called Cannondale. And, after explaining the issue to them, even though they were backed up, they made it a priority to have it looked at. Tony sent a nice young man, who addressed the issue. The generator was ready to go.
It's so good to be able to count on people.
Thank you Tony, Mike, and the rest of the team.

The Cannondale technician was terrific.
After arriving, he quicky found the source of the outage and resolved the issue. He then performed the scheduled maintenance in a thorough manner. He also took time answer a few questions I had.
UPDATE 12/23/25 – Warning to future customers
I strongly caution anyone considering Cannondale Generators.
After ongoing issues following their annual service, I hired a second, highly experienced generator technician (with extensive experience ranging from residential systems to municipal and large-scale generators). His findings directly contradicted Cannondale’s diagnosis.
Cannondale previously told me I needed an expensive new controller. That was incorrect. The new technician resolved the “no start” issue immediately by simply removing and reinstalling the two generator fuses- the unit turned on right away.
More concerning: the real issue traces back to Cannondale’s service visit last spring. Prior to their routine maintenance, the generator had no issues. Immediately afterward, it began running continuously and surging up and down. I reported this at the time and even had a Cannondale representative listen to it live, but I was given excuses rather than a solution.
During the new inspection, it was discovered that the factory-installed regulator screw is missing, causing the regulator to malfunction- consistent with the problems that began immediately after Cannondale’s service visit. This is not a wear-and-tear issue; it’s a missing component their tech somehow fumbled.
I contacted Cannondale politely and asked them to correct the issue they caused by replacing the missing screw and submitted photos showing the factory-installed screw was missing from the unit their tech was the only one to handle. Their response was to deny everything and claim their records show none of this occurred, despite multiple calls and emails made at the time.
This company does not take accountability, misdiagnosed my system, and employed technicians whose work created additional problems rather than solving them. If you want a company that stands behind its work and makes things right when mistakes happen, I recommend looking elsewhere.
Original Review:
This is the second disappointing experience I’ve had with Cannondale Generators. A few years ago, the owner personally apologized for a service issue, and I decided to give the company another chance. Unfortunately, today’s appointment confirmed that little has changed.
I had scheduled a service visit and asked the scheduler, Tommy, to have the technician call or text instead of ringing the doorbell so my dogs wouldn’t be startled. I was home, just upstairs, waiting. The technician arrived, stayed roughly ten minutes, and left without calling, texting, or attempting any form of communication.
When I contacted Tommy to ask what happened, I was told the technician “could not reach the generator because of bushes.” This is simply not accurate- the area is lined with slender 5–6 ft. Ilex shrubs that anyone can easily walk between, and no one has ever told me they were an issue. If it had been mentioned previously, I would have taken care of it immediately. Instead of acknowledging the lack of communication, I was met with excuses.
This follows a previous incident where an inexperienced tech incorrectly adjusted my generator’s weekly testing schedule, resulting in it turning on at odd times with no way for me to stop it.
Overall, the service has been inconsistent, communication poor, and accountability lacking. Today’s appointment was a complete waste of time. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
We had a problem with our generator one afternoon. Cannondale sent someone out the next morning who diagnosed the issue and repaired it promptly. The service technician was very friendly and courteous. I have been using Cannondale for several years and am totally satisfied.
My wife and I bought our first home and it has well and septic. When we loose power we can't use our water. We also have a baby on the way so we decided to get a dedicated generac generator through Cannondale Generators. Tony the sales rep came over and helped us get a location approved by the town. He made sure we got the right generator for our home and that it would power everything should the power go out. The two workers who came out to deliver and trench are so good at what they do. The hand trenched and it came out so well that other companies involved were impressed. Their electricians were great too. After a bit of back and forth with the town and gas company we were finally ready to start up the generator. I contacted Elie, who was so helpful during the entire process, to scheduled the start up date. The tech who came out was awesome and took me through everything I needed to know as a home owner with a dedicated generator. Overall it was a pleasant experience dealing with everyone there and my wife and I are very happy with the generator and how it turned out. I highly recommend Cannondale Generators and giving them five out of five stars.
