I can not recommend this company based on my experiences with them. I have been waiting months for a simple repair authorized by my Home Warranty company. They indicated the repair was complete to the home warranty company and have been paid for the repair but haven’t been back to complete the repair…ever. There have been several
appointments made and no one shows or calls. Now they say they have the wrong parts. Excuse after excuse without remedy. I urge you to consider anyone else before using this company. You will regret working with them. I know I have.
Run!!! If you ever need service from this company, they are a joke AHS had to hire another company to fix the A/C installation Pics speak for themselves.
If you have American Home Shield and are reading this, it’s probably too late. It is my opinion that they treat their warranty customers as second class compared to others (based on reviews I’ve seen and my experience). I had another reputable company take a look and while the repair needed is correct, we believe Caldera inflated the cost of the uncovered items in an effort to make as much money off the call as possible. On top of this they LIED on past claims and said they did things they did not. Would have loved to speak with someone before writing this but I have tried contacting my warranty company who have requested me to receive a call from Caldera, I have called several times and no response in a week. Apparently my option is to just shut up and pay the charges because there is no speaking with anyone to ask questions. I will be filing a complaint with AHS about how they treat customers.
Edit to respond to the comment below:
Yes, I absolute acknowledge that you correctly diagnosed the issue (despite you coming twice last year and INCORRECTLY diagnosing it, lying and saying you checked my outdoor unit, lying and saying a part was replaced that wasn’t). My issue is the other professional opinions about how you inflated the uncovered costs to, in my opinion, make more money. And then, when I tried for well over a week to call and ask questions I received no response till I left an honest review of my experience. During that call I was condescendingly told that you’d gladly come fix my ac as long as I removed my review. Absolutely no acknowledgement of your service, and no answers to my questions. As far as what the warranty covers, yeah - it sucks not to have it just all covered, but that doesn’t give you the right to inflate the cost of the modifications for your own benefit.
Wow… never have a business experience like this one. Came out replaced my whole air conditioner unit, because my previous one was leaking. Charged me $5,500. Was fine the first summer, now this summer is around and it’s leaking ALOT again. Hasn’t even been a year, and they want to charge me $100 to come and just LOOK what’s going on.. telling the lady in the office and she’s trying to say since it’s been OVER or CLOSE to a year(she couldn’t decide which excuse to use) she has to charge me $100… she ended up hanging up on me because I was so frustrated I cursed like the grown woman I am. Would NEVER recommend this company or people to ANYBODY.
UPDATE : because it got worse than just this. After reaching out to the techs that came out and installing the unit, they apologized to me for how the lady in the office (owner) treated me and explained they charge a $100 service to matter what, doesn’t matter time frame but they lowered it to $75 for me for the inconvenience. I never got an email to confirm the appointment so I called the day they were supposed to come out to confirm, owner apologized for the convo that had happened and agreed to the $75, and confirmed they would show up that day to come look at it. About 30 minutes later she calls me to tell me her husband said they refuse to service me anymore because of the review I had left and because I am friends with a former employee with them that apparently didn’t work out. Even tho I have an invoice from them saying 1 year warranty for maintenance & equipment. They didn’t call me back that day, I sent an email of the invoice showing the proof of warranty and they replied and acknowledged the warranty but I still need to pay the $100 service fee, which I had already paid and they also called me liar about the tech saying they’d lower to $75 , so I sent the messages of the conversation proving they agreed to $75. Called back the next day and they tried to push it out another week to come and take a look, angry I agreed and paid the $100. My husband ended up going down and taking a look himself with a friend of ours (their old employee) and figured out the drain was plugged and causing the leaking. I then called them and canceled the appointment and they said they refunddd the $100. After a week & a half , the money was never deposited back onto my card so I called and they tried to tell me the payment never went through on their end so I double checked my statement and it showed it went through so I sent proof of payment to them via email and called back the next day and they then said the bank said they never received it and they would look into it. I waited 5 more days and it still wasn’t resolved, I called my bank to make sure payment was transferred and they confirmed it was successful. I went into office to try to get proof that it never was deposited on their end, the lady owner then tried to say it shows it was a merchant error and she would go to bank and see what went wrong. I then got a call from the guy owner only two hours later that they found it, that they had a lot of service fees deposits that day and they missed mine. Which shows that the owner lady was lying to me the whole time. Again, I would not recommend these people or company to anybody. They are not honest people and have no integrity.
Seem like really nice people, but did not come when they were supposed to, 4 times, over 2 weeks in and heat still not fixed in Feb in extreme cold. This was done thru a warranty company hence the 4 times out and still not fixed. Lied to warranty company to where they would not cover any repairs. Ended up calling another company out of pocket to come look, and they said the wrong part was put in it that didn't even go to my heater, that being the only part caldera put in my heater. My family freezing did not seem urgent at all to them as they kept changing dates around to show up, came by 1 time when I was at work n say oh well we tried to come by but no one answered now we can't come back for another few days. Would agree on a day and time, then just not show up and I would have to call them again to see what's going on since I didn't even get a call to tell me they weren't coming. They said it was because the distance, not in the area, well don't take the job if you're not gonna do it, or do it right. Left it in worse condition then what it originally was, have photos, video, before, after and during. Don't fall for the "you need a duct cleaning" paid about 300 for them to bring the small propane tank looking thing with about a 12 inch straw type tube, blew for about 3 minutes and said it was done. Also cracked and left that whole in my chimney open. Had another heating company repair everything caldera messed up. Also don't bother with their warranty because that's also lies, I was stupid and initially got it included with the duct "cleaning", then a month later got a call of them trying to sell me the same thing I already bought from them. I honestly never tried to use it since I don't want them to come break what someone else fixed.
