I can't say enough good things about both Craig and Mark. We had always dealt with Mark and have referred many people to him, and recently I started playing bass and took my bass to Craig. He literally transformed it, and helped me pick out strings that will work great for both a small orchestra and a swing band where bright pizzicato is needed. They are very reasonable in their prices and SO knowledgeable, friendly and skillful!

Craig is truly one of the finest in the field—an expert whose craftsmanship is matched only by his kindness, humility, and thoughtfulness. He brings an ethical and intentional approach to every interaction, and his shop is a rare gem. The quality of instruments and structural work is outstanding, and the prices are refreshingly accessible; proof that excellence doesn’t have to come at an impossible cost. I’ve been renting and working with Craig and Mark since I started playing bass when I was 9 years old, and I have had nothing but the BEST service! Went there to get a new bridge cut for my bass and they did an absolutely phenomenal job with it! Felt like I had a new bass afterwards. I also got a soundpost adjustment and an open seam closed. I would recommend Burton City Basses for any bassists looking to get work done.
