Time for my daughter's "forever bike". I thought she'd want the flat cobalt blue Marlin 4, but she wanted the shiny red one! Jim did a great job helping us find something that fit her smaller 4'10" frame. We also grabbed a kickstand, and an extra tube and brake pads (both just in case). My son loves his Marlin 5 - he rode from Lake MI to Huron, 300 miles across the state, this summer with my wife. Trek makes good bikes, seeing as I have my Trek 800 from 1998 still with minimal maintenance. If you're looking for a quality bike, Trek is the brand, and this is your place to get it.

Yesterday I stopped at Breakaway Bicycles and Fitness in Muskegon and said hello to my awesome bike mechanic Joshua. I feel very fortunate to have such a wonderful bike mechanic. I did not have an appointment. I just popped in. I asked if he would take a quick look at my bike and give it an assessment. He stopped whatever he was working on and put my bike up on the work stand. I always enjoy our animated discussions about all things bikes and e-bikes. He loves to work on bikes and it shows. Made a few visits to Breakaway Bicycles in Norton Shores this summer for my tri bike (not the best summer of luck riding; two blown out tires and a totaled bike at the end), but every time for service and questions the gentlemen helping me were so nice and helpful in getting my situation resolved while also opening new doors for the next road bike! Keep up the great work, guys! Looking forward to coming back again in the fall!

​I purchased a very unique, $5,400 carbon fiber e-bike with a 1500w motor online because I couldn't find features like this at a local shop. When it arrived, it was clear the initial assembly was done poorly, as it had some serious issue... creaks, crackles, and an oil leak from the handbrake. Breakaway Bicycles was a lifesaver! They picked up the bike, performed a full tune-up, and fixed all the problems. It now rides perfectly and is completely silent. I'm so impressed with their service and professionalism that I will definitely be a repeat customer.
