This place has gone downhill. They messed up my brakes, and other parts in my car. Maybe they are trying to save money nowadays, I'm not sure. They don't care about your car and don't do quality work on it anymore. They also overcharge you by the long run
I'm from out of town, and my wife and I were traveling through when the charging system on our Mercury Grand Marquis failed. A friend in the area suggested Brian at Auto Village, and boy am I glad he did! Due to my circumstance (we were on the way to Michigan to celebrate our wedding anniversary), Brian worked me into the shop rotation right away and helped me get back on the road. An extremely personable business owner! And I think he did some things for me in the situation that he didn't really have to do. I got a TON of value for the money I spent there. An extremely personable business owner! And I think he did some things for me in the situation that he didn't really have to do. I got a TON of value for the money I spent there. Troy was the technician who did the work on our car. As a small engine mechanic myself, I like to think I know good work when I see it. Troy did a great job troubleshooting the source of the charging system issue (it was an intermittent problem, so it took him some time to pinpoint). He was able to fix the wiring so that the charging system would work consistently, and as he showed and explained to me the details of what he did, I could tell he did a nice, neat job - certainly not the kind of job that you'd expect a shade tree mechanic to do. Glad to have a professional mechanic who knows his stuff working on our car! I waited several days to write this review, because I wanted to make sure the repair was good. Now I'm confident that it is. After breaking down several hours from home, it's really nice to regain peace of mind driving the car! Thanks!
Good service, explanation of the process needed to repair your vehicle. Reasonable prices.
Brian was a pleasure to work with. Fair price & excellent service. Would definitely recommend!
Brian was rude from the word, "Go!" I told him that my daughter's vehicle's transmission has an issue. Our mechanic said it was the solenoid & they don't do transmission work. He immediately sounded off with, "If they don't do transmission work how do they know what's wrong with it?!" I calmly explained that it was my mechanic, Morris Auto, that she went to, and that they were able to diagnose the issue, they just don't work on transmissions. He just replied, "Oh." He then said we could bring it in & it would cost $118.00 to run a diagnostic on it. I said, "So you don't do free estimates?" He sarcastically stated, "We don't work for free!" I... I replied, "Well, your website states that you do free estimates." He started rambling about how he could give me an estimate over the phone but it really doesn't mean anything until they see it & diagnose it. My husband then tried to ask if they deduct any of the payment for the diagnostic from the repair/replacement, he acted like he couldn't comprehend what my husband was asking & just kept talking in broken sentences over my husband. My husband got fed up, said, "OK. Thank you. Bye," and hung up. I've NEVER been so talked "down to" or treated so disrespectfully, as I and my husband were talked to & treated by Brian today, over the phone, at 4:45 pm. I will GLADLY take my business elsewhere & ensure that my friends & family know what kind of rude people work at Auto Village Service Center.
