I would avoid this library - especially with children - because almost every day there is an older woman who hangs out in the public computer area talking loudly, practically yelling and all she does is yell profanities arguing with people who are there or just with herself. The staff doesn’t do anything about this!
Disappointing experience I visited the library with my 10-year-old daughter, and unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. About 10 minutes before closing, a staff member spoke to us very rudely and asked us to leave in a disrespectful way. This kind of behavior is discouraging, especially for children who are supposed to feel welcome and inspired to visit the library. It’s sad to see this happening in a place that should encourage learning and community spirit. I truly hope the staff receives better training on kindness and professionalism toward visitors, especially families.

I went to Anacostia Library to get my taxes done by AARP representatives, which are great, by the way. The tax preparers are very polite and quite knowledgeable about taxes - and it's FREE! I have been getting my taxes done by AARP for years and love them for providing this valuable service!!!
