Had to get a bunch of work done to my vehicle, oil leak (intercooler was leaking) as well as getting my Serpentine belt and tensioner replaced, my water pump replaced, and my timing chain and tensioner. Because they where already deep into the engine they replaced all my gaskets too. Including my exhaust and intake manifold gaskets, no extra labor costs. Just the part. They also do a Law Enforcement discount! Amazing place and I will continue to bring my car there for years to come!
Service hasn’t been the same since the change in ownership. It used to be great, but my recent experience has been frustrating. I had an alternator replaced just 12 days ago—a $700 repair that also involved removing the AC compressor and recharging the system, since that’s required for my vehicle.
Last night, the car started losing power and throwing multiple codes: System Voltage Low, Throttle Actuator Low, Control System Forced Limited RPM, Forced Limited Power. Thankfully, this happened right across the street from the shop. Someone helped jump the car, and I was able to coast it back to their lot.
The car was left there overnight, so they had it all day today. But I didn’t hear anything until 4:30 PM, when they called to say the replacement alternator they received was broken, and they're now waiting on another one. It won’t be ready until tomorrow. Maybe they need a more reliable parts supplier—getting faulty parts only adds to delays and frustration.
I run a business and attend college, so this setback forced me to cancel a client appointment and request an extension for schoolwork I needed to drive to complete. If the previous owner were still there, he likely would’ve stayed after hours to get it done today. That level of commitment seems to be gone now.
My grandfather always told me that a trustworthy mechanic is worth their weight in gold, and I think I have found a goldmine with Absolute!!
I was referred to Absolute after needing a water pump and timing chain/belt replacement. I was incredibly impressed with the entire process. I was told when I dropped my car off it would take a while because there were other cars before me/parts to be ordered, and was thankful for the clear communication about that. I was also informed regularly when it took longer than expected, and was so grateful that they were so thorough with the car. The price was comparable and fair to other mechanics, and I felt that I could trust them right away. I intend on using them for any other issues I have and for routine maintenance on my vehicle. I don’t think I could have asked for a better experience.
Amazing experience. I was so upset and discouraged after having my check engine light come on again in my 2017 minivan. They were highly recommended to me by my son's best friends mother and I am so glad I took her advise. We had a great experience with them many years ago with our old van but was advised to go to a different repair shop that my work used for our current one. I wish we would not have taken that advise. The staff at Absolute was very honest and knowledgeable. They will definitely be our go to for any future repairs. If only all shops had the integrity that they do.
