This is a long review because.....Zola’s Cabinets & Stone just replaced the granite in my kitchen and all I can say is “Wow!” They did an absolutely fantastic job. Everyone single person I interacted with at this small family owned business was genuinely friendly, helpful, professional and a joy to work with. The first day I walked into their office/fabricating warehouse I was met by Lauren Ambrogi who graciously showed me the granite slabs that they had available. I already had my eye on a piece of quartzite at another supplier so I was mostly interested in obtaining an estimate for how much it would cost to fabricate & install the stone I had already selected. Lauren got me on the schedule right away for her husband, Lorenzo, to come out and measure my kitchen. Lorenzo and his helper arrived right on time and quickly got the measurements they needed. One concern I had was about my existing tile backsplash and whether the removal of the old granite might damage it. While there are never any guarantees, Lorenzo thought it could be removed without damage. But, just in case we agreed upon a plan should that happen. (Fortunately, we did not need to implement that plan!) Lorenzo said he would have an estimate back to me right away and he did. My initial reaction was that it seemed a lot more expensive than I recalled since the last time I had stone installed. But then, that was 15 years ago! And, after researching the stone I had selected, I came to realize that I had chosen THE most expensive quartzite that you could imagine and the cost of the stone alone accounted for 2/3 of his estimate! But... I had fallen in love with the stone and Lorenzo’s estimate was quite reasonable for the fabrication, removal of old granite, installation of the new, and the plumbing work. When I asked how long it would take until it could be installed Lorenzo said he could install the following week. I spoke with Spencer next who set up a time to come out and get a template measured for the sink cutout. Spencer also arrived right on time and got the template completed quickly. He was an absolutely delightful young man and you could tell from his conversation that he took a lot of pride in the fabricating work he did with stone. He exclaimed how the stone I had selected was beautiful and that he was excited to be able to work with such a gorgeous piece. It was refreshing to see his enthusiasm for his work and his appreciation of the beauty of the earth’s stone. One issue that arose was about whether there was enough room in my small kitchen to install the L-corner without having to put a seam in the corner. The L-section abutted my HUGE oversized refrigerator that was too large to move out of the way without taking it completely apart. (It had been extremely difficult to get the fridge INTO the spot when we moved into the house). And....I had already purchased a new, smaller refrigerator that was to be delivered a few days after the scheduled granite installation. So, without hesitation, and at my request, Lorenzo agreed to delay my installation until AFTER I had the old fridge hauled away and got the new, smaller one that could be easily moved out of the way during the install process. Installation day came and Miguel and Matias arrived...right on time...to begin the install. I was so nervous about them pulling out the old granite that I couldn’t watch. So, I disappeared upstairs and left the two men to their work. Well, my anxiety was for naught as Miguel and Matias did a fantastic job. I still have no idea how they maneuvered that 400 pound L-shaped piece granite into position AND UNDERNEATH the tile backsplash. That alone was some feat! But they did it!!! And it looks fabulous. I couldn’t be happier. I simply can’t say enough good things about Zola’s ... Lauren, Lorenzo, Spencer, Miguel & Matias ... are all to be commended for A JOB WELL DONE. In this day, it is rare to find a company where customer service is of utmost importance. Lauren & Lorenzo and their team have mastered it!
