I brought four pouches in to have them be put back together after removing the leather since I am allergic to it, the pouches were taken apart with care and time. I was told I would receive pictures showing what was being done with them, but each time I checked in, I was told it would have been easier for the person to have taken the pouches apart themself, I emailed pictures of what they had looked like before removing the leather. When I last contacted about the pouches to say if the pouches were too difficult to be put back together that I was fine with them not being done only to receive a short response that they were done and that they... When I last contacted about the pouches to say if the pouches were too difficult to be put back together that I was fine with them not being done only to receive a short response that they were done and that they had sent a message. When I called back to say I had not received the message and asked if there were pictures I was told no. I immediately got worried, when the pouches were picked up by my partner, I asked for them to send pictures. I freaked out when I saw the pictures, the pouches looked terrible. When I had them in person, it confirmed, the work was so bad that I ended up taking the pouches apart again, which took significantly longer the second time. How terrible they looked on the outside was just as bad on the inside, nothing had been sewn straight. Two of the pouches were completely taken apart because of how bad the work was. I sent an email the same day with the pictures showing how bad the work was, I have yet to receive any response or acknowledgement of the email being received and it has been two weeks now. The person knew how bad their work was but chose to remain silent; given how previous phone conversations were with the person I didn't feel communicating by phone would change anything. They had even said to my partner when the pouches were picked up they did the best they could, I don't believe the person did. It is very clear in the pictures how bad the work was. I would have been fine with being told what I was asking was not possible, but the person chose not to ask for more detail and when the pictures were shown to a friend that is a beginning level sewer they immediately knew how terrible the sewing was. I don't know what is worse, the bad customer service or the bad work, either way I would not recommend York Boot and Repair for custom work, and would not give them any star for taking the money knowing what they had done.
