I am a 23 year old nurse, and have lived in Cheshire my whole life. I went to Monro in Cheshire to get an oil change. They told me that I needed CV shafts and a wheel alignment in the front ($1,349.16) and that I needed pads and rotors on my rear tires ($1,443.14). That is a total of $2,792.30 for a 2012 Honda Crv. What they did not realize is that this car has been maintained by United Auto on Congress Ave in Waterbury CT since I purchased it. They took everything apart, inspected it, test drove it…and there is nothing wrong with my car! Monro wanted to replace my rotors and pads. United measured my rear pads at 6mm. For those of you were that were novices about this kind of thing, as I was this morning, brand new pads are 10 mm. So, my rear pads were at 60%. They wanted to replace them and my rotors. United charged us $0.00 even though they spent all this time disassembling and inspecting my car to tell me it was fine. We gave them a $100 gift card to get pizza for the team…and this five star review. Charlie and Joe may be gone, but the culture hasn’t changed. Honest people.
I had to come and give this shop a huge shout out because my experience here was nothing short of amazing. I am new to Waterbury & trying to find a mechanic that is honest is not the easiest especially as a woman. My check engine light was on my car & they resolve the issues in a timely fashion & the price was unbeatable. Thank you guys so much because this will be my home shop & I won’t have anxiety taking my car here knowing that they run a honest business. Thank you!
