Updated Kitchen from Signature Kitchen and Bath and Linda Workman, Designer Thank you Linda Workman for a beautiful updated kitchen. We appreciate all your help and design expertise used for our kitchen remodel. We love how the kitchen looks and are pleased with the entire process from our first meeting to completion which was ahead of schedule. We wanted a fresh kitchen update and to work with someone who would manage the project from start to finish. We wanted to be kept in the loop but didn’t want to have to arrange for different contractors, orders or schedules. We were extremely satisfied with Linda and her team. We were quickly and courteously scheduled for an initial appointment. We enjoyed a fun meeting with Linda where we shared “before” pictures and discussed design likes and dislikes. Linda showed us some ideas right away. We made some initial selections of cabinets, hardware, flooring, countertop and backsplash tiles. This was helpful to get started on the design. We did not want to change the current cabinet footprint but were interested in updates and upgrades. The final design was a refreshed look that included higher cabinets with top molding, a corner cabinet with a hinged door and large pull-out drawers for easier access and decorative panels. We love the cabinets, especially the color, called biscotti by the manufacturer. We knew we did not want the same oak wood that we had or anything too dark. The vinyl floor was changed to an easy maintenance luxury vinyl wood design. The countertop is a clean-looking quartz with light golden-brown veins. Linda’s recommendation of the glossy subway tile for the backsplash is beautiful. We trusted Linda’s options since she knew the products and could envision how the components would work together. For example, we were not sure how a “wood” style floor would look with the wood cabinets, but it looks great. We wanted to keep our current appliances and that was easily accommodated. We also requested that our washer and dryer be available during the updates that included the laundry room. The contract, costs, ordering, construction and payment schedules were detailed and clear. Linda was easy to contact to discuss ideas and changes before materials were ordered. We then worked directly with Elaine who kept us informed about the orders, although Linda was also always available. The materials were going to be delivered a couple weeks early, but cold weather and other factors moved delivery back, but on schedule. When the construction began, we were introduced to Jason, the contractor, and Joe who supervised the construction workers. These guys were very easy to work with and went above and beyond. Jason called frequently with status updates and scheduling information. Joe is a true construction professional who made sure everything was done with expertise, often consulting Linda’s project binder as needed to be sure we were satisfied along the way. The longest waits were for the countertop measurement and then the fabrication and installation. These were noted in the schedule and were expected. When the countertop pieces were installed, they fit like a glove. We really like the countertop edges and how the veins were matched up so seams are barely visible. There wasn’t anything that came up that was unexpected or disappointing. The project schedule was reliable with final walk-through completed days earlier than scheduled. Everyone we worked with was professional, experienced and friendly. Linda was supportive throughout the project. It was so much fun to see everything come together and look better than we imagined. We highly recommend working with Linda Workman and Signature Kitchen and Bath if you have a project you want done professionally, on schedule, on budget with delightful results.
