Shulz Jewelers
Many years ago when Schulz was located in Covington, Kentucky, they were the place to buy jewelry or get a clock or watch fixed. The old man had come from Germany where he was a jeweler and he was the best. Now they are located in Ft. Mitchell and the old man is long gone. I took a watch there to get a new battery and they said I had to leave it for a week before they could give me an estimate as to how much it would cost to repair. I was also told it never actually takes a week. They never called as promised. I was told it would cost round $250.00 to repair and I would have to wait another 5 to 7 weeks. In the past they charged me $125.00 for a new crystal. Another jeweler I found charges $50.00. I finally got it back after 10 days and took it to another jeweler.
The new jeweler replaced the battery for $15.00 and said that an insulator was blocking the battery, which probably occurred when Shulz first looked at it. The new jeweler fixed it. Fifteen dollars and 15 minutes not $250.00 and seven weeks. Times have certainly changed.

Went to Schulz and Sons to design my engagement ring with my boyfriend. Matt was attentive and welcoming and seemed to ensure the process of designing a ring would be stress free and pleasant - which was the opposite of our experience. I have a family heirloom diamond that I had brought in to design a ring around, and when going to pick the diamond up from the store to be appraised, Matt lost it. It took a few hours to find, but a jeweler should not simply just lose a clients stone. It took a few hours to find, but a jeweler should not simply just lose a clients stone. Along with this, we were under the impression that Matt actually designed and created the jewelry in-house, where later we had come to find out that some random person that did not necessarily know what I wanted designed the CAD renderings for my ring (which did not match the descriptions that I had given Matt whatsoever), and that the process would be elongated amongst the back and forth between Matt, the third party, and us. Along with this, the price that was quoted for this design was twice as much as the actual *even better* ring I designed elsewhere with more stones and intricate work.
Again, Matt was kind, but the whole process was very stressful, unprofessional, and unorganized. I would take your business elsewhere.

Not sure if it’s because my husband and I look young, but we had the worst experience with this company. Came it to find a wedding band to match my mom’s engagement ring I inherited. They talked us into resetting it on another band with a matching wedding band. We paid for the set and the placement of the diamond. They tried to charge us way more than was originally discussed and after about 1.5 months of having the wedding band, (it’s supposed to be rose gold… not plated) it’s tarnishing or the rose gold plating is coming off… we got scammed. We purchased the rose gold to avoid any dipping. This is supposed to be real rose gold!
