Restoration Doctor LLC (dba FALCON ROOFING) - VA License Number 2705183802 - performed water mitigation in our home in July 2025. They claimed to work with our home owner’s insurance per company signage/advertising, but refused to continue dialogue or provide requested documentation for additional money (following initial payment of over $4k). In October 2025, they threatened us to put a mechanic’s lien on our home, stating that we owed an additional $8k. We sought legal counsel after they placed a lien on our home, demanding between $8k-$10k. The lien was in one owner’s name, even though there are two owners on the deed. When we refused to pay to “lift the lien”, they reduced the amount owed under the guise of a settlement. Following our attorney’s advice, we ceased further communication. Then, in February 2026, they charged a credit card without our permission. The credit card charged did not belong to the owner who signed the contract or whose name is on the lien. Charging a credit card without authorization is illegal; thus, the case is now in dispute with our bank and we’re seeking legal counsel again. This is an unscrupulous company and should not be trusted. They do not partner with insurance - contrary to their claims - and prey upon water damage victims. We are also filing a complaint with the VA Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation regarding fraudulent business practices. DO NOT HIRE!

Tyson offered to come the night my pipe burst, but the plumber was here so we asked him to come the next day. He evaluated the drywall for water damage and found none, so we didn't need to go further. He was extremely nice and helpful!

I’m not the type to publish many reviews on Google, but I must express my extreme disappointment with Restoration Doctor due to their practice of inflating their prices when a customer has opted to use insurance to help cover the cost of water damage mitigation work. I know they do this because one of their technicians told me so, as a matter of fact. At the time, water was still pouring from an upstairs bathroom into our townhouse kitchen. “Of course,” I thought, “I want my insurance company (Travelers) to cover this — this is what I have paid for all these years” (not really thinking much about what the technician told me). At the time, water was still pouring from an upstairs bathroom into our townhouse kitchen. “Of course,” I thought, “I want my insurance company (Travelers) to cover this — this is what I have paid for all these years” (not really thinking much about what the technician told me). I called Travelers and was told we had a $1,500 deductible. Easy, right?
Hardly.
It turns out, (long story short) that Travelers has had lots of trouble with Restoration Doctor inflating their prices, and now the insurance company is refusing to pay for the mitigation work beyond $3,000 and change. Let’s just say they are off by more than $25,000, which I am now being asked by Restoration Doctor to pay out of pocket.
Now, I wasn’t born yesterday — I know the insurance company is lowballing us like crazy. (I have also, for the first time ever, filed a complaint about our experience with Travelers to the state of Virginia SCC). But I also know for a fact that Restoration Doctor severely inflated their prices when they learned we were going to file a claim with our insurance provider. And now they want us to set up a payment plan for $25,000+ — all while our townhome is still awaiting restoration (we are minus our master bathroom, one of my kids’ bedrooms and have holes all over the place awaiting new drywall).
I cannot recommend Restoration Doctor due to their practice of overcharging insured customers and then footing them the bill when insurance companies (another headache) refuse to pay due to this dishonest practice. I wish I had never dialed their hotline — they have been far more of a headache than a help.

Tyson came out with his thermal camera and identified all areas of water intrusion. The damage wasn't super extensive so we just allowed our tile contractor to do the dry out but this company could not have been nicer or more helpful and didn't even charge us to come out with the infrared equipment

Great company & great staff. Worked with Restoration Doctor to resolve a leak in my condo. They came out and were able to handle all the tasks with no problem. When dealing with insurance, they were able to provide all the documentation necessary. When it was time to conduct payment, they were understanding due to the banking regulations. Overall, it was a great experience to work with them and will be adding them to my trusted business list.
