We had an absolutely amazing experience with Jody and his team. In 4 days they transformed the outside of our house from ugly & without function to a beautiful space for entertainment. New custom stairs for the front and back of our house, a spectacular patio, and immaculate landscaping to boot. Jody and his guys are professional, friendly, and hilarious. Stop what you’re doing right now and get Jody out for an estimate ASAP!

As a long time gardener and avid do-it-yourselfer, I can be very particular when it comes to work that I need to hire out. I had a vision to extend my garden with a retaining wall to hold a new raised bed and staircase that would seamlessly connect one section of the garden with another. I also wanted several very heavy stone garden accent pieces placed throughout my existing garden. Residential Outdoor was recommended to me by a local landscape supply company. When I first met Jody, it felt like I was meeting a good neighbor and a friend. His team showed up on time and kept me informed every step of the way. They are friendly, hard working and know their stuff. Even though some of my asks were outside of their wheelhouse, they ticked off every item on my list and made me one very happy customer. I’m looking forward to planting my new beds and watching the garden grow. Thanks to Jody and team, I would recommend them in a heartbeat!

Needed a retaining wall to keep my new driveway extension from washing or collapsing. Called Residential Outdoor. Jody gave me a reasonable rate and him and his great crew had it done in 2 days. Cleaned up well. Happy customer

Jody was hired by my 75-year-old mother to address drainage issues in her backyard. The price seemed almost too good to be true, so I met him on-site to walk through everything with him and ensure we were all on the same page.
Sixty days later, Jody finally showed up — but instead of directly addressing the drainage problem, he managed to slip in about $10,000 worth of landscaping work. He had subcontracted the actual drainage portion to someone named Todd, whom I never met but quickly learned was unreliable and unprofessional. The work Todd was responsible for was riddled with excuses and repeated delays, and Jody persistently asked to be paid for his portion before the drainage was even completed.
My mother made it very clear that payment would not be issued until the drainage issue — the original reason he was hired — was fully resolved. She didn’t want to be left chasing a no-show subcontractor.
Unfortunately, Todd’s “solution” was minimal grading work, despite us clearly telling Jody during our walkthrough that drain tile installation was necessary due to active springs in the backyard. Instead, Jody asked my parents to pay for the three hours Todd spent tearing up the yard, even though the job was not done and there was no planned solution for the drainage issues.
In the end, we decided to part ways due to the major disconnect between Jody’s/Todd’s plan and ours. Jody walked away with $10,000 and didn’t solve the problem he was hired to fix. I would not recommend Jody — while he may be capable of basic landscaping, I don’t believe he has the expertise or integrity to handle more complex jobs. Additionally, when Todd finally did show up unexpectedly after dodging communication for 1-2 weeks, his behavior raised serious concerns — it was suspected he may have been severely intoxicated.
Don’t walk, RUN.
PS - Take a look at the mess Todd and Jody left at my parents house in the attached pictures.
