The worn leather booties were nicely restored, and the cost for resoling and adding heel protection (just over $100) was in line with another quote I had received elsewhere. The issue—and the reason for the 2-star rating—is pricing for the Louboutins. I was charged $185 per pair to add protective soles to the Louboutin shoes. I was told this was because they were newer models and because he uses Italian materials rather than materials from China. While the work itself was well done, it was not noticeably different from what I’ve experienced with other reputable cobblers. I was refunded the cost for the sandals since they already came with a protective soles For context, where I live, protective soles on Louboutins typically cost around $90, though turnaround time can be longer. After the fact, I asked around and found the going rate for this type of work is generally well below what I was charged, even at high-end cobblers. I had read reviews stating this shop was reasonably priced, which was not my experience. If price is not a concern and you value fast turnaround, this may work for you. However, if you are cost-conscious or familiar with standard market pricing for luxury shoe protection, be sure to get a very clear quote upfront. Nice work—but for me, the pricing did not align with the value.
