Awe, deep gratitude and at least 500 stars for Oakley Restoration and Finishing, especially Bill, Nathan and Josh. They worked on a sentimental family heirloom, a large 1890s mahogany dining room table, well loved, heavily used, but worn, tired, sway-backed and needing repair and finishing so I could gift it to the youngest of our 5 children as a housewarming present. Yes, you will cringe when you see the before photo and wonder what was she THINKING?? The final photo shows the skill inherent in the artisan team at Oakley, but not the most important part. I am so lucky to have found them (I’d cut out a newspaper article about them in 2009... The communication and all follow-ups are prompt and clear. Meeting and talking with them showed their knowledge and love of what they do, and how much they respect not only the physical history of the piece but also honor the emotional history involved. And they listen and hear what you need. I am beyond grateful that I found Oakley and that they gave us a beautiful, stunning table that will host many more generations of family for celebrations, feasts, everyday meals, homework, afterschool snacks, games…I can’t imagine anything will top the transformation they managed on this dining room table but I look forward to the next project and very very highly recommend them for any restoration work. They are a joy and pleasure to meet and work with.
