I bought Ibanez electric bass for the first time in 20 years. Jay tried his best to chat with me in Japanese, and he was kind, patient, and very professional, which made choosing an instrument genuinely enjoyable. The shop also had several vintage Japanese models—the kind I first played about 40 years ago—which I found really fascinating. Even if you’re not sure what you want to buy, this is a comfortable place where you can enjoy exploring instruments. Five stars, highly recommended.

i’ve lived in edison my whole life and never once heard of this place til a couple weeks ago. Jay, the owner, was super friendly and so cooperative, it made the experience a whole lot better. although the small environment, they have a large selection of instruments, amplifiers and gear! my first day there amazed me, but my second day there was just as good. i sold them an acoustic mitchell bass and bought a brand new amplifier, and it was the best decision ever! i highly recommend this somewhat hidden gem to any music lovers or even small musicians! -Paul A. The only positive is that this place has a nice collection of guitars. The negative: I came in and saw a nice guitar, but I noticed that the action on the strings was way too high. I told Jay who agreed and even stated that there was something with the neck and said he would fix it and would call when ready. He called and said the guitar was ready. Now, when I was playing, the song I practiced with uses the heavier strings (E, A, D), so I didn't notice much issue. I assumed it was fixed, so I bought it. When I got home and played a song that focuses on the higher strings (G, B, E) I noticed that the action was still too high. I went back and...The only positive is that this place has a nice collection of guitars. The negative: I came in and saw a nice guitar, but I noticed that the action on the strings was way too high. When I got home and played a song that focuses on the higher strings (G, B, E) I noticed that the action was still too high. I went back and told Jay. He at first tried to claim that the guitar is supposed to play that way. I pointed out that the slots in the nut were not cut correctly and showed him. He then reluctantly agreed to fix the nut. Now, he did not sound confident about it, so I changed my mind and took my guitar to a luthier I knew. Just as I suspected, he told me that the slots on the nut were not cut correctly, and he fixed it for me. Now I'm shredding like crazy on my guitar! :-) So either Jay didn't bother to check the guitar before agreeing to buy it from the previous owner, or he didn't care and was hoping that the customer would not catch on. Either way, that's irresponsible and unprofessional. I recommend that if you are going to get into collecting/playing guitar, you familiarize yourself with the parts of a guitar and make friends with ethical luthiers. Otherwise, you're going to get ripped off by guys like Jay who will smile in your face with a knife behind his back.

Welcoming is one word to describe the owner, Jay. I came around twice before buying my first guitar and he was always nice. From then each time I’ve been back he has the same energy towards me and others as well. Great selection of guitars and basses, but he is truly what makes you want to come back. Great place to find the guitar that caters to what you need!
