Joe did a wonderful job on my grandmother's chair! He is very knowledgeable about furniture and how to repair it. The broken leg is not even noticeable and he had to carve a new one! I highly recommend him, particularly if the item is beloved and needs to be handled with great care. The project took a long time but it was a great deal of work and we agreed to the timeline.

I'd like to share some details of my recent experience working with Joe Naiser from Naiser Furniture Restorations. My family recently had to sell it's 100 year old Victorian farmhouse due to a road expansion project here in Kenton County and I had an opportunity to pull out some of the existing wood work before the wrecking ball (or bulldozer) got to it, including a very unique piece of gingerbread. These pieces had been varnished and painted many times over during the years and I just didn't have the time nor expertise to tackle the restoration process myself. My plan was to incorporate these pieces into my existing home.

After having a not so satisfactory experience with another local refinisher, I found Naiser and gave them a call. I explained what I had and had in mind, and he suggested I bring the piece down to him to have a look. I took the piece in and explained what I thought could be done with it and what I was looking for in the finished product. I found that Joe listened to every word I said and offered suggestions and helpful hints as I was explaining my intentions. His expertise in antiquities was quite evident as we went through the process. He pointed out details of the piece and the process of restoring such a unique item that quite frankly I had not thought of and I have been around antiques all of my life having grown up in this super old home.
After discussing our options and the related expenses we decided on a game plan and he wrote out the work order according to the agreed upon plan. This is a very important part of the process as it keeps both parties on the same page during the restoration of the item. Joe's communication during the process was very key too. When paying for any kind of service the customer wants to be informed of the schedule or any changes in the work order and Joe kept me current every step of the way: a much appreciated detail in the overall scheme of things.
As you can see, this is not your average piece of furniture. With its age and delicacy Joe took great care in the restoration process, keeping the piece intact as they stripped off multiple layers of varnish and paint. Along the way numerous repairs were made that were not initially evident before the piece was stripped. Initially it was one piece as you see in the first picture. I had them cut it into thirds so I could repurpose the piece in my own home. Lots or scroll and detail work that Joe and his shop handled with care, skill and accuracy. I wish I had before and after pictures, but I do not. I will soon paint the newly stripped pieces with trim paint to match the existing in my home.
Overall my wife and myself are extremely happy with how these pieces turned out. They will be installed soon in my home and the beautiful hand crafted work by days gone by will live forever in their new home.
Thanks to Joe and his crew for the long and hard work they put in to this effort. Job well done!!!

My great grandfather's dining room table was damaged when it was moved. I wanted the table and chairs to be like new but old. Joe and his associate understood the goal and executed on it. The table and chairs function like new - solid - but look old. The perfect combination of making something old new again without losing the feel and the stories hidden in the wood - if only the wood could talk. My Great Grandfather, his son, his son and his son would be proud to share a meal at this table. Thank you Joe!
